IMage-based satellite attitude estimation

2010 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2010
Pushbroom sensors are widely used for earth observation from space; this camera captures 1-D image and uses straight motion of the satellite to build a 2-D image. Yet, attitude variations of the satellite during the aquisition process can lead to significant distortions in the 2-D image.

Matching stereo satellite images

[1992] Proceedings. 11th IAPR International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2003
Stereo SPOT satellite images were matched by extracting and then matching linear features. The features were extracted by grouping pixels into regions upon similar gradient orientation. Lines are fitted to regions and parameters calculated providing a rich set of attributes, which are then used to match corresponding features in the stereo images. >

An evaluation of local features on satellite images

2015 38th International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2015
Satellite image matching is an important task when integrating information from different sensors, viewpoints or taken at different times. This paper presents an evaluation of local features on satellite images. Different blob, edge and corner based detectors have been tested against many variables and parameters.

Satellite Image Processing

2002
Remote sensing, as a rapidly improving technology for gathering environmental data using a wide range of satellite platforms, plays a major role in spatio-temporal earth surface monitoring. Throughout this chapter we introduce the basic remote sensing methods and explain their use in GRASS. The tools for image processing and remote sensing applications

Satellite Image Understanding Through Synthetic Images

1983
It is now widely recognized in the Scene Analysis community that further significant advances in computer based methods for image understanding will come about only through a solid comprehension of the physics of the image forming process and the nature of the imaged scene.
