Construction of Hydrophilic Percolation Networks in Physical Wet‐Mixed Carbon Electrodes for High‐Rate Capacitive Deionization

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Capacitive deionization (CDI) using activated carbon (AC) electrodes holds great promise for seawater desalination, yet its practical application is severely constrained by the intrinsic hydrophobicity of carbon surfaces. Herein, we propose a solid‐state superhydrophilic modulation strategy that physically wet‐mixes superhydrophilic MOF ...

Climate Shapes Elevational Gradients in Concentration, Composition, and Functional Diversity of Willow Metabolomes

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 11, Page 8851-8866, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Plants produce broad spectra of metabolites comprising primary metabolites involved in core physiological processes and specialized metabolites mediating responses to biotic and abiotic stress. Understanding how these various components of the metabolome respond to different environmental pressures can help us to understand drivers of ...

Exploring Jupiter's Mid‐Latitude Dusk Magnetopause: The Impact of Magnetic Reconnection

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract The Juno mission has elucidated magnetosphere processes, structure, and dynamics via multi‐instrument plasma and magnetic field observations. In this study, these instruments are used to identify magnetic reconnection during the Juno extended mission from a survey of 490 magnetopause crossings at the mid‐latitude southern dusk magnetopause ...

Observation of Daily Flood Hazard During the SWOT Cal/Val Orbit

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract Flood peaks can develop and recede within a day, making them difficult to capture with satellites with multi‐day revisit intervals. Here, we exploit daily observations during the Calibration and Validation phase of the SWOT mission to examine a short‐lived flood in May 2023 along the Du Gouffre River in Canada. Despite channel widths below 100

Convective Amplification of Ionospheric Feedback by a Finite‐Duration Inertial Alfvén‐Wave Source

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Abstract We investigate the ionospheric feedback instability (IFI) driven by a finite‐duration localized source of inertial Alfvén waves. Wave‐excited conductance perturbations undergo Pedersen mobility drift in the convection and wave electric fields and are amplified.
