The accumulation of the excess pore water pressure of saturated sand under various cyclic loadings is the cause of soil liquefaction, and it is a relatively new research idea to treat the liquefiable sand as a fluid.

Nonlinear seismic response characteristics of a coral island site
The seismic safety evaluation of the coral islands in the South China Sea is an urgent and fundamental scientific issue. For a coral island in the South China Sea, the cyclic triaxial tests on 16 sets of saturated coral sand samples are performed.

This review elucidates the velocity–dispersion–attenuation coupling mechanisms of wave propagation in rock masses, compares six representative models, and reveals how pressure, temperature, mineral composition, and anisotropy jointly control dynamic responses in complex geological media.

This research established a new object detection model based on YOLOv11 to recognise benthic organisms, specifically sea cucumbers, by utilising high‐resolution photogrammetric‐based orthomosaics acquired along infralittoral Mediterranean Sea beds. The model demonstrated impressive performance metrics and, when combined with the Deepness plugin for the

Native habitat affinities predict fish invasions with post‐invasion habitat shifts
Initial invasion success is gated by native pre‐adaptations, but post‐invasion establishment is characterized by habitat shifts. We demonstrate that forecasting risk based solely on native niches severely underestimates future ecological impacts, and we provide an empirically validated watchlist of future invaders.

Abstract Climate‐driven aquatic heatwaves pose an increasing threat to fish populations by inducing prolonged thermal stress. However, the resilience of teleosts to chronic heat exposure and their capacity for recovery remains poorly understood. This study investigated the effects of chronic high‐temperature exposure on juvenile zebrafish (Danio rerio).

K0 test and particle flow simulation of coral sands with different gradations
This paper performs a series of laboratory static lateral pressure coefficient (K0) tests on coral sands with five typical gradations in dry and saturated states via water bladder type lateral pressure apparatus to investigate their ranges of K0 values ...
