Plasma cholesterol responsiveness to saturated fatty acids
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 1988The variability in responsiveness to saturated fatty acids has not been studied systematically. For this reason data from three dietary studies carried out in our laboratory were pooled and used to evaluate how individuals vary in their responses in plasma concentrations of total cholesterol and low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol to the substitution ...

ACTIVATION OF HAGEMAN FACTOR BY SATURATED FATTY ACIDS
Australian Journal of Experimental Biology and Medical Science, 1962SUMMARYThe effect of suspensions of saturated fatty acids or oleic acid on the coagulation of plasma and on the release of plasma kinin was determined by quantitative methods. The activity of the saturated series (C8‐C22) increases enormously with the length of the carbon chain. Oleic acid is practically inactive.
