Investigating electrical response to water saturation of Agbada sandstone in an x-field Niger delta, Nigeria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In an attempt to characterize a reservoir in a field, importance is given to living models as it serves critical function in estimating if the reservoir under study is economically viable. Having a good knowledge of electrical response to reservoir rocks

Modified saturated salt solution (MSSS) method for embalming

open access: yesIndian Journal of Clinical Anatomy and Physiology, 2019
Introduction: Surgical specialty requires adequate exposure of training and enormous practice of surgical skills to become successful. Moreover, surgeons have to be familiar with day to day trending newer developments and surgical techniques. For exclusive surgical training in surgical methods, the current adopted approach is surgical skills training ...

Interpretation of the Result of a Traditional Salt-Frost Scaling Test

open access: yesNordic Concrete Research
Frost damage on the concrete surface might be aggravated when freezing occurs in the presence of a salt solution, like sea water or de-icing salt. A possible mechanism behind this combination of frost and salt is discussed.

Formation of Stable Amorphous Calcium Phosphate and Collagen Assemblies by a Versatile Spray‐Drying Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Morphological changes in striated muscle fibres caused by components of the Thiel embalming method

open access: yesFolia Morphologica
Background: Thiel-fixed body donors are highly valued for surgical training courses. The pronounced flexibility of Thiel-fixed tissue has been postulated to be caused by histologically visible fragmentation of striated muscle.

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.
