Novel Superdielectric Materials: Aqueous Salt Solution Saturated Fabric [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2016
The dielectric constants of nylon fabrics saturated with aqueous NaCl solutions, Fabric-Superdielectric Materials (F-SDM), were measured to be >105 even at the shortest discharge times (>0.001 s) for which reliable data could be obtained using the constant current method, thus demonstrating the existence of a third class of SDM.

Saturated salt solutions in showcases: humidity control and pollutant absorption

open access: yesHeritage Science, 2022
The sustainable, passive climatisation of display cases using saturated salt solutions is rarely applied nowadays. These solutions adjust the atmospheric humidity to the specific deliquescence relative humidity (DRH) of the salt.

Creating saturated sodium chloride solutions through osmotically assisted reverse osmosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Increasing sustainability awareness has created opportunities for the recovery and reuse of salt solutions in industrial processes. Osmotically assisted reverse osmosis (OARO) has the potential to concentrate these salt solutions. Until now OARO research

One-dimensional creep tests and model studies on saturated saline soil

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2020
The physical and chemical interaction between soil particles and pore salt solutions in saturated saline soils has a strong influence on the mechanical behavior of soils, which makes the saline soils exhibit different deformation characteristics.

Cyclic Operation of Molten-Salt Thermal Energy Storage in Thermoclines for Solar Power Plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cyclic operation of molten-salt thermal energy storage thermoclines for solar thermal power plants is systematically investigated. A comprehensive, two-temperature model is first developed for the cyclic operation of a thermocline operating with a ...

Fractional-Fractal Modeling of Filtration-Consolidation Processes in Saline Saturated Soils

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2020
To study the peculiarities of anomalous consolidation processes in saturated porous (soil) media in the conditions of salt transfer, we present a new mathematical model developed on the base of the fractional-fractal approach that allows considering ...

Genesis and shapes of salt and gypsum solution cavities created by density-driven groundwater flow : a laboratory experimental approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Density-driven groundwater flow in evaporite bearing sedimentary rocks and resulting karstification frequently cause geomechanical problems, such as land subsidence and collapses.
