Calibration of dataloggers with saturated salt solutions
Recent research has shown that the necessity of gas humidity measurement and control is a growing problem in the world. For this reason NSC «Institute of metrology» has begun to carry out works on humidity unit standard creation. This work is actually on its early stages.

The Equilibrium Time and Salt Expansion Characteristic of Sulfate Saline Soil upon Cooling
The salt expansion disease is severe for the soil containing sodium sulfate in cold regions. This paper carried out one-dimensional salt expansion tests of saline soil, the crystallization test of saturated sodium sulfate solution, and the numerical ...

DNA Binding in High Salt: Analysing the Salt Dependence of Replication Protein A3 from the Halophile Haloferax volcanii [PDF]
Halophilic archaea maintain intracellular salt concentrations close to saturation to survive in high-salt environments and their cellular processes have adapted to function under these conditions.

Migration of Salt Ions in Frozen Hydrate-Saturated Sediments: Temperature and Chemistry Constraints [PDF]
Migration of dissolved salts from natural (cryopeg brines, seawater, etc.), or artificial sources can destabilize intrapermafrost gas hydrates. Salt transport patterns vary as a function of gas pressure, temperature, salinity, etc. The sensitivity of the

Constitutive theory of geomaterials saturated with salt solution and its application in clay
The chemical activity of ions in salt solution will change the mechanical properties of saturated geomaterials, inducing geotechnical problems such as deterioration or even failure of engineering properties.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Measurement and modeling of water sorption isotherm for salt‐laden autoclaved aerated concrete
The authors reported on the measurement of water sorption isotherms for autoclaved aerated concrete, commonly called “autoclaved lightweight concrete” in Japan, containing aqueous salt (sodium chloride or magnesium chloride) solutions in concentrations ...
