Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Unravelling salt stress tolerance: physiological, morphological and genetic components in crop species and model plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This PhD Thesis address fundamental mechanisms of salt stress response in plants from an agronomic, physiological, morphological and genetic point of view. Specifically we considered salt stress tolerance performances of eleven wild species of Cruciferae,

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Extend series-mixing-cell-model to salt leaching process of unsaturated soil

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan, 2015
Though Series-Mixing-Cell-Model(SMCM) has been widely used in modeling solute transport and reactions,it's mainly for saturated conditions. Therefore,SMCM was extended to simulate salt movement during leaching process of initial unsaturated soils,by ...

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Studies on respondent of some tree species as Elaeocar pus decipiens to stress of salt fog and its physiological characteristics

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2001
Leaf blades of 11 species of trees, such as Elaeocar pus decipiens, on conditions of separation and pot culture, were treated with saturated solution of sodium chloride to simulate stress of salt-fog.

Investigation of salt migration in the ground saturated with a chloride-sulphate sodium-magnesium solution in freezing-thawing cycles** [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
Among the variety of objects in the permafrost zone, soils are encountered, including cryopegs – highly mineralized solutions that have excessive pore pressure.

Long term potential of a saturated sodium chloride solution for the anatomical preservation of human cadavers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
The anatomical world has relied heavily on formaldehyde as an embalming agent since its use began in the 1890s. Efforts to move away from formaldehyde have intensified in recent years, largely in response to health concerns.
