Rediscovery of the Enigmatic Paroxygraphis in Xizang, China: Phylogenetic Evidence for Its Reclassification Within Oxygraphis (Ranunculaceae)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
This study resolves the long‐standing taxonomic ambiguity of the genus Paroxygraphis through comprehensive molecular phylogenetic analysis, demonstrating its nested position within the Oxygraphis clade. Based on robust phylogenetic evidence, alongside morphological and ecological similarities, we propose the reclassification of Paroxygraphis ...

Small‐Scale Stabilizing Effect of Asynchrony in Vital Rate Responses to Climate in an Imperiled Dune Thistle

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2025.
We examined climate‐mediated portfolio effects within a population of the coastal dune endemic plant Cirsium pitcheri. We found that vital rates responded in opposite directions to climatic drivers, especially precipitation, in our five subpopulations that spanned the foredune to backdune.

Cuticular waxes in alpine grassland plants: Chemical diversity, biosynthesis, and ecological adaptation with biotechnological insights

open access: yesGrassland Research, Volume 4, Issue 3, Page 269-280, September 2025.
Alpine plants use specialized cuticular waxes to survive extreme cold, UV radiation, and drought. This study explores how these waxes adapt to environmental stress, revealing their chemical diversity, biosynthesis, and ecological roles. Understanding these adaptations can inspire innovations in climate‐resilient crops and UV‐protective bioproducts ...
