Pain at intrauterine device placement in a Brazilian center

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study explores pain at intrauterine device (IUD) placement in a large Brazilian cohort. Methods We undertook a cross‐sectional analysis of health records from individuals aged 18 to 45 years who underwent IUD placements between 2022 and 2024 at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Universidade Estadual de Campinas ...

Variation of Circulating Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) in Depression: Relationships with Inflammatory Indices, Metabolic Status and Patients’ Clinical Features

open access: yesLife, 2023
This study seeks to offer a contribution to the method of subtyping major depressed patients by exploring the possible relationships between circulating brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), different peripheral inflammatory/metabolic markers in the ...

Evapotranspiration Estimation and Irrigation Performance Assessment Using Remote Sensing: A Case Study of the Ergani Dam Irrigation System (Turkey)

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Efficient water resource management is critical for sustainable agriculture, with evapotranspiration (ET) serving as a key parameter. Remote sensing (RS) techniques offer cost‐effective approaches for ET estimation and irrigation performance assessment in extensive agricultural systems.

Mapping Soil Salinity Prediction Enhanced by Time‐Series Remote Sensing Features

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gaining timely knowledge of soil salinity's spatiotemporal dynamics is crucial for accurate mapping. Through temporal span comparisons, this study systematically extracts and utilizes time‐series features (TSFs) derived from Sentinel‐2 and Landsat 8 NDVI and SAVI data (2019–2023) to enhance prediction accuracy. Three datasets were constructed:

Remote sensing and citizen science for habitat mapping: A machine learning approach to lowland heathland in Surrey, UK

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract In a time of extensive global biodiversity loss, conservation efforts increasingly rely on high‐resolution, accurate, up‐to‐date habitat maps to guide decision‐making and strategic interventions. Many products have been developed in response, using machine learning (ML) methods to automate habitat classification, often relying on satellite ...

Effects of timed LED regimes on tomato plant traits, performance of two‐spotted spider mites, and predatory mites (Phytoseiulus persimilis)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 2300-2311, April 2025.
Light‐emitting diode (LED)‐based treatments for enhancing crop production and pest management have primarily focused on continuous treatments. This study, using Tetranychus urticae and Phytoseiulus persimilis, demonstrates that the timing of LED supplementation is crucial for designing integrated pest management strategies that improve both plant ...

Environmental Stressors Influence Spatial Complexity in a Fluvial Macrophyte meadow

open access: yesRemote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.
This research investigates the nonlinear relationships between environmental stressors and the fine‐scale spatial complexity of a fluvial macrophytes meadow. The use of multivariate spatial analysis allowed us to identify two major environmental gradients (nutrients and light) and two major complexity gradients (related to abundance and fragmentation).

SAVI objects: sharing and virtuality incorporated [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM on Programming Languages, 2017
Direct sharing and storing of memory objects allows high-performance and low-overhead collaboration between parallel processes or application workflows with loosely coupled programs. However, sharing of objects is hindered by the inability to use subtype polymorphism which is common in object-oriented programming languages.
