Abstract BACKGROUND The world population is projected to reach nearly 9.7 billion by 2050, significantly increasing the demand for novel and sustainable protein sources. Edible insects, such as Tenebrio molitor, emerge as promising alternatives due to their high nutritional value, but adult insects and frass are direct and abundant by‐products of this ...

Halogen‐free biocomposite polystyrene foams were fabricated via pilot‐scale supercritical CO2 extrusion using expandable graphite, melamine polyphosphate, biochar, and recycled polymer. The optimized formulation exhibited refined cellular morphology, enhanced flame retardancy (limiting oxygen index of 25%, rapid self‐extinguishing), and improved ...

Direct extraction of lignocellulose from wood derivatives was achieved by introducing a bulky isocyanate substituent to lignin in a water–ethanol mixture. This process exploits the tunable solvent affinity of lignin to achieve its whitening, enabling the isolation of lignocellulose.

In the present study, relationship between knockdown and mortality of insecticides was examined against the adult female housefly, Musca domestica. Type‐I pyrethroid insecticides showed a weak linkage, as early knocked down flies did not always result in mortality, while type‐II pyrethroids and organophosphates exhibited strong correlation between the ...

Shrimp shell compost suppresses Verticillium dahliae microsclerotia, enhances chitinase activity, lowers olive wilt severity and improves plant recovery under controlled conditions. Abstract BACKGROUND Verticillium wilt of olive (Olea europaea L.), caused by Verticillium dahliae Kleb., is difficult to manage because long‐lived microsclerotia persist in
