A synergistic alliance between nematophagous fungi and organic matter against plant‐parasitic nematodes: a systematic review

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Certain beneficial fungi are widely used to control harmful nematodes in crops, especially when combined with organic matter. Together, they improve soil health, support plant growth, and enhance nutrient cycling. This natural partnership offers a promising, environmentally friendly approach to strengthening sustainable agriculture and reducing ...

Synergistic transition from type‐I‐like to type‐II‐like symptomology in a pyrethroid mixture and its impact on knockdown–mortality relationships in Musca domestica L

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
In the present study, relationship between knockdown and mortality of insecticides was examined against the adult female housefly, Musca domestica. Type‐I pyrethroid insecticides showed a weak linkage, as early knocked down flies did not always result in mortality, while type‐II pyrethroids and organophosphates exhibited strong correlation between the ...

Cedrela odorata L. PRODUCTION IN A RAW SAWDUST SUBSTRATE IN TECHNICIAN SYSTEM AT TECPAN DE GALEANA, GUERRERO, MEXICO [PDF]

open access: yesRa Ximhai, 2011
Nursery high quality plants production by using expensive commercial substrates (peat moss, perlite, vermiculite) decreases profits; this is the main reason to search alternative production substrates.

Evaluation of electrolyzed water to control fungal trunk pathogens in grapevine nurseries

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 1740-1751, April 2025.
Electrolyzed water treatments could have promising applications in the grapevine nursery process to prevent or reduce infections caused by fungal trunk pathogens on grapevine propagation material. Abstract BACKGROUND Grapevine producers demand solutions to control fungal trunk pathogens (FTPs) in nurseries.

Effects of timed LED regimes on tomato plant traits, performance of two‐spotted spider mites, and predatory mites (Phytoseiulus persimilis)

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 2300-2311, April 2025.
Light‐emitting diode (LED)‐based treatments for enhancing crop production and pest management have primarily focused on continuous treatments. This study, using Tetranychus urticae and Phytoseiulus persimilis, demonstrates that the timing of LED supplementation is crucial for designing integrated pest management strategies that improve both plant ...

The Application of Hydrochar Composite Briquettes for Sustainable Slag Foaming in the Electric Arc Furnace Process

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Hydrochar‐mill‐scale briquettes with varying C/O molar ratios (0.07–0.90) have been tested at 1650 °C to evaluate their slag foaming performance for electric arc furnace application. All seven briquette recipes developed succeed in promoting slag foaming.

Waste‐Derived Functional Carbon for Rapid PAHs Removal: A Sustainable Pathway for Co‐Remediation and Resource Valorization of Oily Sludge

open access: yesSusMat, EarlyView.
Oily sludge is converted into co‐pyrolytic carbon (CPC) through co‐pyrolysis with biomass and further functionalized with APTES to form APTES/CPC. The modified carbon enables rapid anthracene removal from petroleum‐contaminated wastewater, achieving most adsorption within 1 min and reaching equilibrium within 10 min. The enhanced adsorption performance
