Comparison of glycemic control and β-cell function in new onset T2DM patients with PCOS of metformin and saxagliptin monotherapy or combination treatment

open access: yesBMC Endocrine Disorders, 2018
Background Impaired insulin activity in women with polycystic ovary syndrome might differ from that seen in type 2 diabetes mellitus without polycystic ovary syndrome.

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 38, 9 July 2026.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

Saxagliptin and Tadalafil Differentially Alter Cyclic Guanosine Monophosphate (cGMP) Signaling and Left Ventricular Function in Aortic‐Banded Mini‐Swine

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2016
BackgroundCyclic guanosine monophosphate‐protein kinase G‐phosphodiesterase 5 signaling may be disturbed in heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction, contributing to cardiac remodeling and dysfunction.

Role of Evogliptin for Intra‐Class Therapeutic Interchange in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Subgroup Analysis From A Multi‐Center, Prospective, Observational Study (REVISE Study)

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 4, July 2026.
ICTI to evogliptin from other DPP‐4 inhibitors significantly improved glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled on metformin‐based therapy. The treatment was well tolerated, supporting ICTI as a pragmatic optimization strategy in routine clinical practice. ABSTRACT Aims While dipeptidyl peptidase‐4 (DPP‐4) inhibitors are

GLP‐1 agonists and the gut microbiome: A bidirectional relationship

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 92, Issue 5, Page 1309-1325, May 2026.
Abstract Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 (GLP‐1) receptor agonists have transformed the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obesity, yet their interactions with the gut microbiome remain an emerging frontier in pharmacological and metabolic research.

The synergistic effects of saxagliptin and metformin on CD34+ endothelial progenitor cells in early type 2 diabetes patients: a randomized clinical trial

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2018
Aims Type 2 diabetes is associated with endothelial dysfunction leading to cardiovascular disease. CD34+ endothelial Progenitor Cells (EPCs) are responsible for endothelial repair and neo-angiogenesis and can be used as a cardiovascular disease risk ...

Emulating Six Cardiovascular Outcome Trials of Antidiabetic Drugs in Individuals with Type 2 Diabetes: Analyses Based on Real‐World Databases from Korea and Taiwan

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 119, Issue 5, Page 1265-1274, May 2026.
With the increasing volume of clinical evidence derived from large‐scale Asian real‐world data (RWD) and the growing interest in its use in regulatory decision‐making, it is important to conduct benchmarking exercises that evaluate whether studies using Asian RWD can generate similar conclusions as randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
