Production of middle distillates through olefin oligomerization using ZSM‐5 as a catalyst

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The global transportation sector relies heavily on gasoline (C5–C12) and diesel (C11–C24), which together account for approximately 60% of its energy needs. Driven by rapid industrialization and urbanization, diesel consumption is outpacing gasoline, with projections estimating global demand by 2035 at 27 million barrels per day for gasoline ...

Revisiting the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from methanol and carbon dioxide

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract The process for producing dimethyl carbonate (DMC) from carbon dioxide (CO2) and methanol is explored in this article. It provides an overview of the thermodynamics involved in DMC synthesis, discussing the challenges and potential solutions. The article highlights the reported use of catalysts and dehydrating agents to improve DMC yield and ...

Highly Sensitive Fluorescence Probe Based on Functional SBA-15 for Selective Detection of Hg2+

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2010
An inorganic–organic hybrid fluorescence chemosensor (DA/SBA-15) was prepared by covalent immobilization of a dansylamide derivative into the channels of mesoporous silica material SBA-15 via (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES) groups.

Synthesis of Titanium Containing SBA-15 and Its Application for Photocatalytic Degradation of Phenol

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2014
We synthesized Ti-containing SBA-15 by one-pot hydrothermal method and extensively investigated its physicochemical properties and examined its photocatalytic activity to degrade phenol. It’s shown that appropriate amount of titanium could be effectively

Influence of Elastic Strains on the Adsorption Process in Porous Materials. An Experimental Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The experimental results presented in this paper show the influence of the elastic deformation of porous solids on the adsorption process. With p+-type porous silicon formed on highly boron doped (100) Si single crystal, we can make identical porous ...

Synthesis Of Butyl Glucoside Over Sulphated Zr-Sba-15 And Tungstophosphoric Acid Incorporated Sba-15 Catalysts

open access: yes, 2021
Glycosidation of glucose with n-butanol was studied over sulphated Zr incorporated SBA-15 and tungstophosphoric acid (TPA) incorporated SBA-15 catalysts. The catalysts were prepared with different Zr, TPA and SO4 amounts via hydrothermal synthesis. SBA-15 structure was preserved and Zr and TPA were successfully incorporated.

Effect of Mesoporous Catalysts on the Mainstream Tobacco Smoke of 3R4F and 1R5F Reference Cigarettes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The effect of three synthesised mesoporous catalysts (a SBA-15 and two MCM-41) on the smoke of two reference tobaccos (1R5F and 3R4F) has been studied. Mixtures of the catalysts and each tobacco were smoked under the ISO 3388 standard conditions.

Correlation Between the Molecular Structure of Metal‐Supporting Ligands and Catalysis in the Oxygenase‐Mimicking Immobilized Metal Complex Catalysts

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The correlation between the structures of metal complexes immobilized in the mesopores of hydrophobically modified silicate supports was examined in relation to the catalytic activities toward C‐H oxidation. On the alkene oxidation with H2O2, the iron catalyst bearing bis(imidazolyl)methane ligand promotes allylic oxidation, whereas the mononuclear ...

Mesoporous Silica SBA-15 Particles in a Detergent Solution as Abrasive and Coating Material for Household Care Cleaning Products

open access: yesColloids and Interfaces, 2019
Cleaning products have improved a lot in the last century. The reason for this improvement is not only the use of new surfactants, but also the use of additives that either increase the efficiency of surfactants or act as abrasive agents that increase ...
