A Discovery and Replication Study of Dyslexia Does Not Reveal Reproducible Gray Matter Volume Differences

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 11, 01 August 2026.
This study shows that gray matter volume (GMV) differences in dyslexia fail to replicate across two studies in large, representative samples, and reproducibility of results is dependent on analytic choices, particularly whether total GMV is accounted for. Prior GMV findings in dyslexia should therefore be considered with caution.

Altered Cortical Morphological Brain Networks and Their Diagnostic Classification Utility in Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 11, 01 August 2026.
Using structural MRI data from over 2700 participants, this large‐scale study shows that major depressive disorder exhibits distinct, feature‐specific alterations across multiple brain structural networks. These changes are already present in first‐episode, drug‐naive patients and allow effective differentiation between individuals with depression and ...

A Remote Program for Navigator‐ and Pharmacist‐Led Management of Obesity Medications in Adults: Rationale, Design, and Implementation

open access: yesObesity Science &Practice, Volume 12, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective Remote interventions leveraging team‐based care may ameliorate persistent gaps in obesity medication implementation, but prospective studies are lacking. In this paper, the design, enrollment, and implementation of a remote intervention for obesity medications are described.

SBM variations revisited

open access: yesSBM variations revisited
https://www.grips.ac.jp/list/facultyinfo/tone_kaoru/ Slacks-based measure (SBM) (Tone (2001), Pastor et al. (1999)) has been widely utilized as a representative non-radial DEA model. In Tone (2010), I developed four variants of the SBM model where main concerns are to search the nearest point on the efficient frontiers of the production possibility set.

HvarAKR1B1‐mediated tolerance in Hippodamia variegata: Deciphering the metabolic adaptation and fitness costs under prolonged starvation

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 8, Page 7903-7914, August 2026.
Starvation stress significantly affected the growth and development of Hippodamia variegata. Combined transcriptome and metabolome analysis and RNA interference verification revealed that HvarAKR1B1 may be involved in the response of Hippodamia variegata to starvation stress.
