SBRT pancreas

open access: yes, 2022
Introduction: In order to deliver a better and better dose to the region of interest, the SBRT method of pancreatic irradiation was introduced. Goal: Precise delivery of a high dose to a small volume with a small number of fractions. The role of the radiotherapy technician during each segment of the entire process, as well as all the specifics of the ...

Radiotherapy and Immunotherapy In Hepatocellular Carcinoma: Priming the Tumor Immune Microenvironment From Bench To Bedside

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
The dual immunomodulatory network of radiotherapy in hepatocellular carcinoma. Radiotherapy initiates its effects by inducing immunogenic cell death and DNA double‐strand breaks. Immune Activation: Cytosolic DNA from damaged cells activates the cGAS‐STING pathway, triggering IRF3/NF‐κB‐mediated type I interferon production. This enhances dendritic cell

T-Cell Receptor Profiling and Prognosis After Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy For Stage I Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2021
Radiotherapy is known to influence immune function, including T cell receptor (TCR) repertoire. We evaluated the TCR repertoire before and after stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) for stage I non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and explored ...

Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia Quality Care Guidelines for Renal Tumour Ablation in Australia and New Zealand

open access: yesJournal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Image‐guided thermal ablation (radiofrequency, cryo‐ and microwave ablation) is a safe and effective primary treatment for small renal mass and localised renal cell carcinoma ≤ 4 cm (T1a) with long‐term cancer‐specific survival rates equivalent to surgical resection (Level A).

Lung V5 and Planning Target Volume/Lung Volume Ratio as Independent Risk Factors for ≥Grade 2 Radiation Pneumonitis after Moderately Hypofractionated Radiotherapy: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung V5 and the planning target volume/lung volume ratio were identified as independent dosimetric risk factors for clinically significant radiation pneumonitis following moderately hypofractionated radiotherapy for lung cancer. Maintaining V5 < 35% may help mitigate this risk in clinical practice.

Ablative radiotherapy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesBJU International, EarlyView.
Objective To prove the oncological benefit of ablative radiotherapy in patients with up to five metastases from castration‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) a single‐centre randomised trial was initiated. Patients and Methods This monocentric, randomised, phase II clinical trial enrolled patients with up to five prostate‐specific membrane antigen ...

Descriptive analysis of screen‐detected versus clinically diagnosed lung cancer cases: evidence of earlier stage shift and treatment differences

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer‐related deaths worldwide, largely due to late‐stage diagnosis. Lung cancer screening by computed tomography (CT) reduces mortality by detecting cancers earlier in high‐risk individuals, prompting Australia to launch the National Lung Cancer Screening Program (NLCSP) in 2025.

Bridging hope: Retrospective analysis of stereotactic radiotherapy in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma-A promising and cost-effective solution for low-and middle-income countries

open access: yesCancer Research, Statistics, and Treatment
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common cancers among men in India. Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) has recently become a promising treatment modality for HCC before liver transplantation.
