Using Personalized Model to Predict Traffic Jam in Inbound Call Center

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Scalable Information Systems, 2017
In this paper, I describe a general approach to scaling data mining applications in a call center environment. A call center operates with customers calls directed to agents for service based on online call traffic prediction.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

The 5W’s for Control as Part of Industry 4.0: Why, What, Where, Who, and When—A PID and MPC Control Perspective

open access: yesInventions, 2019
The advent of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) has pushed technology beyond its physical limits, making the process prone to errors and poorer performance. Whether it is about smart manufacturing where mass customization is envisaged, or collaborative human⁻ ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Algorithms for Optimization of Processor and Memory Affinity for Remote Core Locking Synchronization in Multithreaded Applications

open access: yesInformation, 2018
This paper proposes algorithms for optimization of the Remote Core Locking (RCL) synchronization method in multithreaded programs. We propose an algorithm for the initialization of RCL-locks and an algorithm for thread affinity optimization.
