Symmetries and mass degeneracies in the scalar sector
We explore some aspects of models with two and three SU(2) scalar doublets that lead to mass degeneracies among some of the physical scalars. In Higgs sectors with two scalar doublets, the exact degeneracy of scalar masses, without an artificial fine ...

On the way from matter-dominated era to dark energy universe [PDF]
We develop the general program of the unification of matter-dominated era with acceleration epoch for scalar-tensor theory or dark fluid. The general reconstruction of single scalar-tensor theory is fulfilled.

Effective potential in scalar field theory [PDF]
We study the \ensuremath{\lambda}${\ensuremath{\varphi}}^{4}$ theory in 4 space-time dimensions in a Monte Carlo simulation on a ${10}^{4}$ lattice, through an especially simple and accurate way to calculate the effective potential. All renormalized parameters are obtained via the effective potential and the propagator.

The superradiant stability of a Kerr–Newman black hole and charged massive scalar perturbation is investigated. We treat the black hole as a background geometry and study the equation of motion of the scalar perturbation.

We present a modified version of the Koide formula from a scalar potential model or from a Yukawaon model, based on scalar fields set up in a nonet representation of the SU(3) flavor symmetry in the Standard Model.

Dynamics of Scalar field in a Brane World
We study the dynamics of a scalar field in the brane cosmology. We assume that a scalar field is confined in our 4-dimensional world. As for the potential of the scalar field, we discuss three typical models: (1) a power-law potential, (2) an inverse ...

Active and passive fields face to face
The statistical properties of active and passive scalar fields transported by the same turbulent flow are investigated. Four examples of active scalar have been considered: temperature in thermal convection, magnetic potential in two-dimensional ...

Series solutions for a static scalar potential in a Salam-Sezgin Supergravitational hybrid braneworld [PDF]
The static potential for a massless scalar field shares the essential features of the scalar gravitational mode in a tensorial perturbation analysis about the background solution.

Scalar field cosmologies with inverted potentials [PDF]
Regular bouncing solutions in the framework of a scalar-tensor gravity model were found in a recent work. We reconsider the problem in the Einstein frame (EF) in the present work. Singularities arising at the limit of physical viability of the model in the Jordan frame (JF) are either of the Big Bang or of the Big Crunch type in the EF.

Neutron stars in scalar–tensor gravity with quartic order scalar potential
In this work we investigate the effects of a non-minimally coupled quartic order scalar model on static neutron stars, with the non-minimal coupling in the Jordan frame being of the form $f(ϕ) = 1 + ξϕ^2$. Particularly we derive the Einstein frame Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equations, and by numerically integrating them for both the interior and the ...
