A result on scalarization

open access: yes, 1991
In this short paper, we give a result on scalarization of multiobjective optimization. Any local weakly efficient solution of a multiobjective programming problem is a locally optimal solution of the corresponding weighted optimization problem if and ...

Topology and Material Optimization in Ultra‐Soft Magneto‐Active Structures: Making Advantage of Residual Anisotropies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Residual magnetization induces pronounced mechanical anisotropy in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers, shaping deformation and actuation even without external magnetic fields. This study introduces a computational‐experimental framework integrating magneto‐mechanical coupling into topology optimization for designing soft magnetic actuators with ...

Leptonic Scalars versus Scalar Leptons [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of Corfu Summer Institute 2019 "School and Workshops on Elementary Particle Physics and Gravity" — PoS(CORFU2019), 2020
The notion of scalars having lepton number, i.e. leptonic scalars, is discussed without supersymmetry, where scalar leptons reside. It is shown how dark parity comes from lepton parity, as well as its possible origin from grand unification. Two specific phenomenological applications to dark matter are described.

Well-posedness and scalarization in vector optimization [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we study several existing notions of well-posedness for vector optimization problems. We distinguish them into two classes and we establish the hierarchical structure of their relationships.

Mixed scalarization of charged black holes: from spontaneous to non-linear scalarization

open access: yes
Scalarized black holes (BH) have been shown to form dynamically in extended-scalar-tensor theories, either through spontaneous scalarization -- when the BH is unstable against linear perturbations -- or through a non-linear scalarization.

A Generalized Scalarization Method for Evolutionary Multi-Objective Optimization

open access: yes, 2023
The decomposition-based multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA/D) transforms a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) into a set of single-objective subproblems for collaborative optimization.

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

On Multicriteria Games with Uncountable Sets of Equilibria [PDF]

open access: yes
The famous Harsanyi's (1973) Theorem states that generically a finite game has an odd number of Nash equilibria in mixed strategies. In this paper, we show that for finite multicriteria games (games with vector-valued payoffs) this kind of result does ...

Effective-action model for dynamical scalarization beyond the adiabatic approximation

open access: yes, 2022
In certain scalar-field extensions to general relativity, scalar charges can develop on compact objects in an inspiraling binary -- an effect known as dynamical scalarization. This effect can be modeled using effective-field-theory methods applied to the

Inverse Design of Amorphous Materials With Targeted Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
AMDEN is a diffusion model framework for the inverse design of amorphous materials with targeted properties. By incorporating Hamiltonian Monte Carlo refinement into the denoising process, the framework overcomes the challenge of generating thermally relaxed disordered structures.
