Resilience of Interbank Market Networks to Shocks
This paper first constructs a tiered network model of the interbank market. Then, from the perspective of contagion risk, it studies numerically the resilience of four types of interbank market network models to shocks, namely, tiered networks, random ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

An Efficient Causal Group Communication Protocol for Free Scale Peer-to-Peer Networks
In peer-to-peer (P2P) overlay networks, a group of n (≥2) peer processes have to cooperate with each other. Each peer sends messages to every peer and receives messages from every peer in a group.

Many real-world networks have scale-free characteristics and can be abstracted into scale-free networks. Aiming at the problem that scale-free networks have low fault tolerance in the face of malicious attacks, we focus on the selective forwarding attack

Generic scale of the "scale-free" growing networks
We show that the connectivity distributions $P(k,t)$ of scale-free growing networks ($t$ is the network size) have the generic scale -- the cut-off at $k_{cut} \sim t^\beta$.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Scaling in public transport networks
We analyse the statistical properties of public transport networks. These networks are defined by a set of public transport routes (bus lines) and the stations serviced by these.

Stability and Immune Control Strategy of SIR Scale-free Network Model
In order to study the effect of the vaccine immunization and the individual immigration on the spread behaviors of the SIR epidemic, the SIR epidemic model for complex networks is constructed. The equilibrium stability of complex networks with homogeneous
