2015 International Conference on Digital Image Computing: Techniques and Applications (DICTA), 2015
Image features vary in size and thus feature analysis often requires a multi-scale approach. Typically, this is achieved using a bank of filters centred at discrete scales. We introduce a novel filter bank constructed from Fourier series basis functions in the logarithmic frequency domain.

Risk of Bias Evaluation of Cross-Sectional Studies: Adaptation of the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale.
Journal of Periodontal ResearchCross-sectional studies are widely utilized in medical research to estimate prevalence and examine associations. As such, they can serve as a significant source of data for systematic reviews.

Adaptation and evaluation of Turkish version of the fear of COVID-19 Scale
Death Studies, 2020We investigated the psychometric properties of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale in Turkish among a diverse group with a focus on the prevalence of coronavirus related fear across gender, age intervals, SES, chronic illness situation, and educational level ...

The vocational adaptation rating scales
Applied Research in Mental Retardation, 1982The Vocational Adaptation Rating Scales (VARS) were developed to provide a comprehensive assessment of maladaptive social behavior related to vocational success, but not directly measuring job performance of mentally retarded workers. Psychometric information derived from the VARS is useful for developing individualized educational plans (IEPs) for ...

Scale-adapted wavelet transform
Optics Letters, 1996A modified wavelet transform, the scale-adapted wavelet transform (SAWT), is proposed. The scale factor is adaptively changed according to the local structure of the input signal. The transformed image keeps the same dimensions as the input signal without losing the meaningful multiresolution representation.

Learning from Scale-Invariant Examples for Domain Adaptation in Semantic Segmentation
European Conference on Computer Vision, 2020Self-supervised learning approaches for unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) of semantic segmentation models suffer from challenges of predicting and selecting reasonable good quality pseudo labels.

Domain adaptation in small-scale and heterogeneous biological datasets
Science AdvancesMachine-learning models are key to modern biology, yet models trained on one dataset are often not generalizable to other datasets from different cohorts or laboratories due to both technical and biological differences.

Communicative Adaptability Scale
2020Duran defined communicative adaptability as a cognitive and behavioral “ability to perceive socio-interpersonal relationships and adapt one’s interaction goals and behaviors accordingly”. The scale appears to have strong concurrent validity. Social Composure and Social Experience are related to communication apprehension, Social Experience and Social ...

Impacts of climate change on global agriculture accounting for adaptation
NatureClimate change threatens global food systems1, but the extent to which adaptation will reduce losses remains unknown and controversial2. Even within the well-studied context of US agriculture, some analyses argue that adaptation will be widespread and ...
