Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Spatial Scale Effect and Correction of Forest Aboveground Biomass Estimation Using Remote Sensing

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
Forest biomass is critically important for forest dynamics in the carbon cycle. However, large-scale AGB mapping applications from remote sensing data still carry large uncertainty.

Scale effect in seismotectonics

open access: yesGeodynamics & Tectonophysics, 2014
This publication consolidates and analyses experimental data in a wide range of scales in seismotectonics and geomechanics, from a micro-size seismic event (an earthquake focus of a few centimetres) to a mega earthquake. It reviews regularities in changes of geometric parameters of faults and fractures in various ranks, their mechanical properties ...

Anomalous Transport Due to the Conformal Anomaly

open access: yes, 2016
We show that the scale (conformal) anomaly in field theories leads to new anomalous transport effects that emerge in an external electromagnetic field in an inhomogeneous gravitational background.

Effect of Primordial Magnetic Field on Seeds for Large Scale Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Magnetic field plays a very important role in many astronomical phenomena at various scales of the universe. It is no exception in the early universe. Since the energy density, pressure, and tension of the primordial magnetic field affect gravitational

Fractal Analysis of Particle Distribution and Scale Effect in a Soil–Rock Mixture

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2022
A soil–rock mixture (SRM) is a type of heterogeneous geomaterial, and the particle distribution of SRM can be described by fractal theory. At present, it is difficult to quantify the fractal dimension of a particle size distribution and understand the ...

Driving Droplet by Scale Effect on Microstructured Hydrophobic Surfaces

open access: yes, 2012
A new type of water droplet transportation on microstructured hydrophobic surface is proposed and investigated experimentally and theoretically - water droplet could be driven by scale effect which is different from the traditional methods.

NRASQ61R Expression in Lymphatic Endothelial Cells Causes Enlarged Vessels, Hemorrhagic Chylous Effusions, and High Mortality in a Mouse Model of Kaposiform Lymphangiomatosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.
