A Predictive and Preventative Computation for the Diagnosis of the Heartbeat Control Systems: DFA for the Risk of Mortality in Both, Animal Models and Humans [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Systemics, Cybernetics and Informatics, 2007
We analyzed the heartbeat interval by the detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) in models and humans. In models, the myocardium of the healthy heart contracted regularly. The deteriorated heart model, however, showed alternating beats so-called "alternans.

A Hierarchical Allometric Scaling Analysis of Chinese Cities: 1991–2014

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2017
The law of allometric scaling based on Zipf distributions can be employed to research hierarchies of cities in a geographical region. However, the allometric patterns are easily influenced by random disturbance from the noises in observational data.

Cancellation exponents and multifractal scaling laws in the solar wind magnetohydrodynamic turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 1996
Some signed measures in turbulence are found to be sign-singular, that is their sign reverses continuously on arbitrary finer scales with a reduction of the cancellation between positive and negative contributions.

A framework for event-based flood scaling analysis by hydrological modeling in data-scarce regions

open access: yesHydrology Research, 2020
Flood scaling theory is important for flood predictions in data-scarce regions but is often applied to quantile-based floods that have no physical mechanisms.

Intermittency study of global solar radiation under a tropical climate: case study on Reunion Island

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The arbitrary order Hilbert spectral analyses are applied to study the intermittency and multifractality of Global Horizonal Irradiation (GHI) based on one available high sampling rate of 1-year GHI records located at Saint-Denis (Moufia) over Reunion ...

Scaling of Growth Rate Volatility for Six Macroeconomic Variables

open access: yesContemporary Economics, 2012
We study the annual growth rates of six macroeconomic variables: public debt, public health expenditures, exports of goods, government consumption expenditures, total exports of goods and services, and total imports of goods and services.

Multifractal Characteristics of Geomagnetic Field Fluctuations for the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at Swarm Altitude

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
This paper explores the spatial variations of the statistical scaling features of low to high latitude geomagnetic field fluctuations at Swarm altitude. The data for this study comes from the vector field magnetometer onboard Swarm A satellite, measured ...

Scaling exponents of curvature measures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Fractal Geometry, Mathematics of Fractals and Related Topics, 2014
Fractal curvatures of a set F\subset\mathbb R^d are roughly defined as suitably rescaled limits of the total curvatures of its parallel sets F_\epsilon as

Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.
