Ballistic deposition with memory: A new universality class of surface growth with a new scaling law
Motivated by recent experimental studies in microbiology, we suggest modifying the classic ballistic deposition model of surface growth, where the memory of a deposition at a site induces more depositions at that site or its neighbors.

A Biomedical Computation Revealed that an Extra-Systolic Heartbeat Exhibits a Lower Scaling Exponent: DFA as a Beneficial Biomedical Tool [PDF]
We made our own DFA (detrended fluctuation analysis) program. We applied it for checking characteristics for the heartbeat of various individuals. Healthy subjects showed a normal scaling exponent, which is near 1.0 (ranging 0.9 to 1.19 in our own ...

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Epilepsy‐Associated Variants of a Single SCN1A Codon Exhibit Divergent Functional Properties
ABSTRACT Objective Pathogenic variants in SCN1A, which encodes the voltage‐gated sodium channel NaV1.1, are associated with multiple epilepsy syndromes exhibiting a range of clinical severity. SCN1A variants are reported in different syndromes, including Dravet syndrome, which is associated with loss‐of‐function, whereas neonatal/infantile‐onset ...

Improved Prediction of Elastic Modulus for Carbon-Based Aerogels Using Power-Scaling Model
The mechanical stability of carbon aerogels, particularly their thermal insulation performance, is closely linked to their elastic modulus. This property plays a crucial role in determining the material’s overall mechanical stability.

Scaling exponents of star polymers
We review recent results of the field theoretical renormalization group analysis on the scaling properties of star polymers. We give a brief account of how the numerical values of the exponents governing the scaling of star polymers were obtained as well as provide some examples of the phenomena governed by these exponents.

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.
