Recovering steady‐state visual evoked potential‐related electroencephalography during amplitude‐modulated‐transcranial alternating current stimulation using dynamic adaptive stimulation artifact source separation

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Simultaneous electroencephalography (EEG) recording during transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is strongly contaminated by stimulation artifacts, limiting direct assessment of neural activity. Steady‐state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) provide frequency‐specific and phase‐locked responses, making them suitable for ...

Temporal dynamics of visual awareness and target detection revealed by EEG‐based univariate and multivariate analyses

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, EarlyView.
In this study, we combined univariate ERP analysis with multivariate decoding of EEG data to examine target detection and reported visual awareness in a near‐threshold visual task. The results revealed partly overlapping yet distinguishable temporal dynamics associated with the two processes.

Alopecia Areata in a Patient Receiving Cemiplimab for Metastatic Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Alopecia areata (AA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by non‐scarring hair loss of the scalp and/or body, with an unpredictable and variable clinical course. Its etiology is not entirely understood, although evidence suggests that environmental, immunological, and genetic factors contribute to disease development.

Paradoxical Alopecia Areata Induced by IL‐17 and IL‐23 Inhibitors: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
This systematic review identifies consistent clinical patterns of alopecia areata associated with IL‐17 and IL‐23 inhibitors, most frequently involving secukinumab and ustekinumab. Disease severity varied widely, and management often required biologic discontinuation or therapeutic switching.

Scale of Alopecia Areata Distress (SAAD‐41): Initial Validation Part 2—Scoring, Preliminary Reference Values and Validity

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
The SAAD‐41 is a 41‐item scale developed to comprehensively assess Alopecia Areata psychosocial patient‐reported outcomes. Results support scoring the scale at the subdomain level and provisionally at the total‐score level. The total‐score can be calculated as a sum of the 41 SAAD items, with the sum referred to as the SAAD‐41‐Total.

Nail Lichen Planus in Children ‐ Epidemiology, Pathogenesis, Clinical Presentation, and Treatment

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Nail lichen planus (NLP) is a chronic inflammatory disorder that, while rare in children compared to adults, represents a significant cause of pediatric nail dystrophy that requires early recognition to prevent permanent scarring and nail loss.
