Mark detection from scanned ballots
Analyzing paper-based election ballots requires finding all marks added to the base ballot. The position, size, shape, rotation and shade of these marks are not known a priori. Scanned ballot images have additional differences from the base ballot due to scanner noise.

We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Optically induced forces in scanning probe microscopy
Typical measurements of light in the near-field utilize a photodetector such as a photomultiplier tube or a photodiode, which is placed remotely from the region under test.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Morphology, structure and electronic properties of CdTe surfaces studied by scanning tunneling microscopy [PDF]
A scanning tunneling microscope has been used to study the surface properties of CdTe crystals. Coupled with scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) and atomic force microscopy, the surface morphology, structure and electronic properties of CdTe and CdZnTe

EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Ultrasonic Rayleigh wave enhancements from angled defects in aluminium [PDF]
Non-linear enhancements of ultrasonic surface wave amplitude and frequency have been observed when an incident wave interacts with a surface defect.

RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...
