Elaphostrongylus spp. from Scandinavian cervidae - a scanning electron microscope study (SEM)
Nematodes of the genus Elaphostrongylus collected from moose (Alces alces L.), reindeer (Rangifer tarandus tarandus L.), and red deer (Cervus elaphus L.), respectively, were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy.

STEM electron tomography in the Scanning Electron Microscope
The scanning-transmission imaging mode in the SEM allows for the three dimensional tomographic reconstruction of a specimen, starting from a set of projection images. Compressed sensing was used to solve the undetermined problem of structure reconstruction and was proven capable of overcoming the limitations arising from the sampling scheme ...

Serial protein crystallography in an electron microscope
Serial X-ray crystallography at free-electron lasers allows to solve biomolecular structures from sub-micron-sized crystals. However, beam time at these facilities is scarce, and involved sample delivery techniques are required.

Graphene–Catechol Dental Sealant: Antibacterial and Mechanical Evaluation
This study presents dental sealants made with graphene and L‐DOPA‐modified graphene. L‐DOPA enhances graphene dispersion, improving sealant properties. The material shows antibacterial activity against S. mutans and L. casei, along with high strength and elasticity.

Additive manufacturing technologies like laser powder‐bed fusion offer great design freedom and individualization of products down to a batch size of one. However, parts fabricated with this technology suffer from poor quality. Acoustic assistance during the build process can minimize these drawbacks.

This study presents a 3D representative volume element‐based simulation approach to predict mesoscopic residual stress and strain fields in silicon solid solution‐strengthened ductile cast iron. By modeling phase transformation kinetics with an enhanced Johnson–Mehl–Avrami–Kolmogorov model, the effects of varying cooling rates on residual stresses are ...
