The deposition of Iron on pristine MoS2/Au(111) monolayers produces nanoparticles that donate charge to the support, generating Fe+2‐interfacial species. On the contrary, on defect‐engineered MoS2, sulfur vacancies trap sub‐nanometric Fe clusters and host two excess electrons that redistribute locally, suppressing Fe oxidation without formal Mo ...

Skin‐Like Tri‐Modal Sensors Based on Soft Piezoelectric and Ionic Composites
Inspired by the multimodal perception of human skin, a soft, skin‐like tri‐modal sensor is presented. The device incorporates an ionically conductive, piezoelectric, elastic composite as its active layer, enabling independent detection of temperature, static strain, and dynamic strain within a single two‐terminal architecture.

Tunable Oxygen Connectivity in Carbaporphyrinoid Polymers on Metal Surfaces
Hydroxyl‐functionalized dicarbaporphyrinoid polymers synthesized on Au(111) enable tunable oxygen‐mediated connectivity under UHV conditions. Thermal activation yields one‐dimensional hydroxyl‐terminated polymers that can selectively evolve into either covalently‐linked dibenzo‐p‐dioxane architectures through intermolecular C–O–C coupling or two‐fold ...

SPM-Bench: Benchmarking Large Language Models for Scanning Probe Microscopy
As LLMs achieved breakthroughs in general reasoning, their proficiency in specialized scientific domains reveals pronounced gaps in existing benchmarks due to data contamination, insufficient complexity, and prohibitive human labor costs. Here we present SPM-Bench, an original, PhD-level multimodal benchmark specifically designed for scanning probe ...
