Determining the relaxation time from a temperature-dependent scan of the neutron spin-echo signal amplitude [PDF]
Temperature-dependent scans of the neutron scattering intensity are commonly employed in high energy-resolution quasielastic measurements. Besides serving as a useful diagnostic tool for identifying the temperature range that could give rise to a ...

Mapping periplasmic binding protein oligosaccharide recognition with neutron crystallography
Numerous studies have shown how periplasmic binding proteins (PBPs) bind substrates with exquisite specificity, even distinguishing between sugar epimers and anomers, or structurally similar ions.

Unitary Scattering Protected by Pseudo-Hermiticity [PDF]
The Hermitian systems possess unitary scattering; however, the Hermiticity is unnecessary for a unitary scattering although the scattering under the influence of non-Hermiticity is mostly non-unitary. Here we prove that the unitary scattering is protected by certain type of pseudo-Hermiticity and unaffected by the degree of non-Hermiticity.

In this paper, we present a detailed study of Skyrmion-Skyrmion scattering for two $B=1$ Skyrmions in the attractive channel where we observe two different scattering regimes. For large separation, the scattering can be approximated as interacting dipoles. We give a qualitative estimate when this approximation breaks down.

Multi-directional neutron dark-field imaging with single absorption grating
Neutron dark-field imaging is a powerful technique for investigating the microstructural properties of materials through high-resolution full-field mapping of small-angle scattering.

A database of synthetic inelastic neutron scattering spectra from molecules and crystals
Inelastic neutron scattering (INS) is a powerful tool to study the vibrational dynamics in a material. The analysis and interpretation of the INS spectra, however, are often nontrivial.

Long-Range Spoof Surface Plasmons(LRSSP) on the Asymmetric Double Metal Gratings
Spoof surface plasmons (SSP) on the corrugated metal surfaces have been widely studied over the past decade in both microwave and Terahertz (THz) band. Previous studies show that SSP mode on the metal grating suffers from high dissipative losses in high ...

The so-called Scattering Equations which govern the kinematics of the scattering of massless particles in arbitrary dimensions have recently been cast into a system of homogeneous polynomials. We study these as affine and projective geometries which we call Scattering Varieties by analyzing such properties as Hilbert series, Euler characteristic and ...
