ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

A Fast Algorithm for Establishing 3-D Scattering Center Model for Ship Targets over Sea Surface Using the Shooting and Bouncing Ray Technique

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2019
Fast construction of the 3-D scattering centers of ship targets on the sea surface is important for many radar applications, including the fast signature prediction, feature extraction, and automatic recognition of targets.

Next-to-Leading Order Hard Scattering Using Fully Unintegrated Parton Distribution Functions

open access: yes, 2008
We calculate the next-to-leading order fully unintegrated hard scattering coefficient for unpolarized gluon-induced deep inelastic scattering using the logical framework of parton correlation functions developed in previous work.

Partial wave analysis of the Dirac fermions scattered from Reissner - Nordstr\" om charged black holes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The asymptotic form of Dirac spinors in the field of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole are derived for the scattering states (with $E>mc^2$) obtaining the phase shifts of the partial wave analysis of Dirac fermions scattered from charged black holes. The

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Hyperstrong Radio-Wave Scattering in the Galactic Center. II. A Likelihood Analysis of Free Electrons in the Galactic Center

open access: yes, 1998
The scattering diameters of Sgr A* and several nearby OH masers (~ 1" at 1 GHz) indicate that a region of enhanced scattering is along the line of sight to the Galactic center.

Scattering Fans [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Mathematics Research Notices, 2018
AbstractScattering diagrams arose in the context of mirror symmetry, Donaldson–Thomas theory, and integrable systems. We show that a consistent scattering diagram with minimal support cuts the ambient space into a complete fan. A special class of scattering diagrams, the cluster scattering diagrams, is closely related to cluster algebras.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Quantum wake dynamics in Heisenberg antiferromagnetic chains

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
It has long been suggested that the inverse Fourier transform of neutron scattering data gives access to space- and time-resolved spin-spin correlations. Scheie et al.

Hadronization and final state interaction effects in semi-exclusive Deep Inelastic Scattering off nuclei

open access: yes, 2003
Recent calculations of the effects of hadronization and final state interaction (FSI) in semi-exclusive deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) $A(e,e'(A-1))X$ processes are reviewed.
