Few body impulse and fixed scatterer approximations for high energy scattering [PDF]
The elastic scattering differential cross section is calculated for proton scattering from $^6$He at 717 MeV, using single scattering terms of the multiple scattering expansion of the total transition amplitude (MST). We analyse the effects of different scattering frameworks, specifically the Factorized Impulse Approximation (FIA) and the Fixed ...

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

Holographic particle localization under multiple scattering [PDF]
We introduce a novel framework that incorporates multiple scattering for large-scale 3D particle-localization using single-shot in-line holography. Traditional holographic techniques rely on single-scattering models which become inaccurate under high ...

X-ray scattering from a plane parallel slab using radiation transfer considerations [PDF]
X-ray scattering power of a plane parallel homogeneous slab of material is derived using radiation intensity transfer equations. The scattering power scales with the ratio of the scattering coefficient of interest to the total attenuation coefficient. The results can be used to guide the choice of slab thickness, scattering geometry and photon energy to

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) accounts for half of the heart failure cases. It is characterised by microvascular dysfunction, associated with reduced pericyte coverage and diminished STAT3 expression in pericytes. Loss of STAT3 impairs pericyte adhesion, promotes senescence, and activates a pro‐fibrotic gene program.

Entanglement and Timing-Based Mechanisms in the Coherent Control of Scattering Processes
The coherent control of scattering processes is considered, with electron impact dissociation of H$_2^+$ used as an example. The physical mechanism underlying coherently controlled stationary state scattering is exposed by analyzing a control scenario ...

Resonance scattering and singularities of the scattering function [PDF]
Recent studies of transport phenomena with complex potentials are explained by generic square root singularities of spectrum and eigenfunctions of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians. Using a two channel problem we demonstrate that such singularities produce a significant effect upon the pole behaviour of the scattering matrix, and more significantly upon the ...

Brucella NyxA and NyxB dimerization enhances effector function during infection
Brucella abortus thrives inside cells thanks to the translocation of effector proteins that fine‐tune cellular functions. NyxA and NyxB are two effectors that destabilize the nucleolar localization of their host target, SENP3. We show that the Nyx proteins directly interact with each other and that their dimerization is essential for their function ...
