Interfacial contribution to thickness dependent in-plane anisotropic magnetoresistance

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
We have studied in-plane anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) in cobalt films with overlayers having designed electrically interface transparency. With an electrically opaque cobalt/overlayer interface, the AMR ratio is shown to vary in inverse proportion

Momentum anisotropy of the scattering rate in cuprate superconductors

open access: yes, 2004
We examine the momentum and energy dependence of the scattering rate of the high temperature cuprate superconductors using angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The scattering rate is of the form a + b*w.

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Magnetic anisotropy, damping, and interfacial spin transport in Pt/LSMO bilayers

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
We report ferromagnetic resonance measurements of magnetic anisotropy and damping in epitaxial La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMO) and Pt capped LSMO thin films on SrTiO3 (001) substrates.

Comment on the anisotropic impurity scattering in superconductors

open access: yes, 1999
We discuss a case of a strong anisotropic impurity scattering within the model introduced in our previous paper [Phys. Rev. B54, 15463 (1996)] and clarify our former statement about a possible enhancement of the critical temperature in this scattering ...

Bio‐Inspired Magnetically Tunable Structural Colors from Elliptical Self‐Assembled Block Copolymer Microparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cephalopod‐inspired photonic microparticles with dynamic structural coloration are fabricated via confined self‐assembly of linear block copolymers into ellipsoids containing stacked lamellae. Embedded superparamagnetic nanoparticles enable rapid magnetic alignment, restoring vivid, angle‐dependent color.

Fast Solutions for Lossless Anisotropic Electromagnetic Scattering and Radiation Problems Using the FDTD Method

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2018
In this paper, an acceleration technique isproposed to solve electromagnetic scattering and radiation problems, whichcontain lossless anisotropic (Lossless-ANI) materials, based on thefinite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method.

From Clinic to Computation: Multiscale Bioengineering Strategies for Durable Biological Aortic Valve Replacements

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioprosthetic aortic valves have revolutionized the treatment of aortic stenosis, but their durability is limited by structural valve deterioration (SVD). This review focuses on the pericardial tissue at the heart of these valves, examining how its mechanical properties and calcification drive fatigue and failure.

Interaction of spin and vibrations in transport through single-molecule magnets

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2011
We study electron transport through a single-molecule magnet (SMM) and the interplay of its anisotropic spin with quantized vibrational distortions of the molecule.

Weak anisotropic impurity scattering in unconventional superconductors

open access: yes, 1996
The effect of weak anisotropic (momentum-dependent) impurity scattering in unconventional superconductors has been investigated. It is shown that the anisotropic scattering can lead either to a small reduction or a small enhancement of the isotropic pair-
