Angular distribution of radiation by relativistic electrons in a thin crystal

open access: yes, 2005
The results of theoretical investigation of angular distributions of radiation from a relativistic electron passing through a thin crystal at a small angle to the crystal axis are presented.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Spin Hall effect in spin-valley coupled monolayer transition-metal dichalcogenides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study both the intrinsic and extrinsic spin Hall effect in spin-valley coupled monolayers of transition metal dichalcogenides. We find that whereas the skew-scattering contribution is suppressed by the large band gap, the side-jump contribution is ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Spin-orbit torques due to extrinsic spin-orbit scattering of topological insulator surface states: out-of-plane magnetization

open access: yesJPhys Materials, 2022
The origins of the spin-orbit torque (SOT) at ferromagnet/topological insulator interfaces are incompletely understood. The theory has overwhelmingly focussed on the Edelstein effect due to the surface states in the presence of a scalar scattering ...

Bound State and Order Parameter Mixing Effect by Nonmagnetic Impurity Scattering in Two-band Superconductors

open access: yes, 2003
We investigate nonmagnetic impurity effects in two-band superconductors, focusing on the effects of interband scatterings. Within the Born approximation, it is known that interband scatterings mix order parameters in the two bands.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Important role of three-body repulsive force effect in nuclear reactions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2010
The effect of three-body force (TBF) is studied in nucleus-nucleus elastic scattering on the basis of Brueckner theory for nucleon-nucleon (NN) effective interaction (complex G matrix) in the nuclear matter. A new G matrix called CEG07 proposed recently

Hot spots and the hollowness of proton-proton interactions at high energies

open access: yes, 2016
We present a dynamical explanation of the hollowness effect observed in proton-proton scattering at $\sqrt s\!=\!7$ TeV. This phenomenon, not observed at lower energies, consists in a depletion of the inelasticity density at zero impact parameter of the ...

Scattering of low-energy electrons and positrons by atomic beryllium: Ramsauer-Townsend effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Total cross sections for the scattering of low-energy electrons and positrons by atomic beryllium in the energy range below the first inelastic thresholds are calculated.
