Correlation between the Extraordinary Hall Effect and Resistivity

open access: yes, 2003
We study the contribution of different types of scattering sources to the extraordinary Hall effect. Scattering by magnetic nano-particles embedded in normal-metal matrix, insulating impurities in magnetic matrix, surface scattering and temperature ...

Multiple-scattering effects on smooth neutron-scattering spectra [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2000
Elastic and inelastic incoherent neutron-scattering experiments are simulated for simple models: a rigid solid (as used for normalization), a glass (with a smooth distribution of harmonic vibrations), and a viscous liquid (described by schematic mode-coupling equations).

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Electron Transport through Disordered Domain Walls: Coherent and Incoherent Regimes

open access: yes, 2006
We study electron transport through a domain wall in a ferromagnetic nanowire subject to spin-dependent scattering. A scattering matrix formalism is developed to address both coherent and incoherent transport properties.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Transport Properties of the Two-Dimensional Hole Gas for H-Terminated Diamond with an Al2O3 Passivation Layer

open access: yesCrystals, 2022
Diamonds are thought to be excellent candidates of next-generation semiconductor materials for high power and high frequency devices. A two-dimensional hole gas in a hydrogen-terminated diamond shows promising properties for microwave power devices ...

Ratchet effect in graphene with trigonal clusters

open access: yes, 2014
In this study, we explore the ratchet effect in graphene with artificial, triangular scatterers from a theoretical standpoint. It is demonstrated that the skew scattering of carriers by such coherently oriented defects results in the ratchet effect in ...

Ultracold scattering processes in three-atomic helium systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We review results on scattering observables for $^4$He--$^4$He$_2$ and $^3$He--$^4$He$_2$ collisions. We also study the effect of varying the coupling constant of the atom-atom interaction on the scattering ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Some Difficulties and Status in the Application of X-Ray Spectrometry in Geological Analysis: A Review

open access: yesYankuang ceshi
X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) has become one of the widely used methods for main and trace elements analysis in geological samples, due to its characteristics of non-destructive, fast, environmentally-friendly and high analytical precision ...
