TARP: A traffic-aware restructuring protocol for Bluetooth radio networks [PDF]
[[abstract]]Bluetooth is a low-cost and short-range wireless communication technology. The Bluetooth device randomly searches and connects with other devices using the inquiry/inquiry scan and the page/page scan operations, resulting an uncontrolled ...

A Bluetooth scatternet formation algorithm [PDF]
A Bluetooth ad hoc network can be formed by interconnecting piconets into scatternets. The constraints and properties of Bluetooth scatternets present special challenges in forming an ad hoc network efficiently. We present and analyse a new randomized distributed algorithm for Bluetooth scatternet formation. We prove that our algorithm achieves O(log n)

Distributed Construction and Maintenance of Bandwidth-Efficient Bluetooth Scatternets [PDF]
Bluetooth networks can be constructed as piconets or scatternets depending on the number of nodes in the network. Although piconet construction is a well-defined process specified in Bluetooth standards, scatternet construction policies and algorithms ...

A Reconfigurable Mesh-Ring Topology for Bluetooth Sensor Networks
In this paper, a Reconfigurable Mesh-Ring (RMR) algorithm is proposed for Bluetooth sensor networks. The algorithm is designed in three stages to determine the optimal configuration of the mesh-ring network.

On Efficient Topologies for Bluetooth Scatternets [PDF]
In this paper we investigate the relationship between network capacity and topology for Bluetooth scatternets. We start by considering the intrinsic capacity limits of a scatternet structure, and we show that limiting capacity may be achieved for very local traffic and under specific conditions on the scatternet structure.

A Reconfigurable Formation and Disjoint Hierarchical Routing for Rechargeable Bluetooth Networks
In this paper, a reconfigurable mesh-tree with a disjoint hierarchical routing protocol for the Bluetooth sensor network is proposed. First, a designated root constructs a tree-shaped subnet and propagates parameters k and c in its downstream direction ...

Autonomous proximity awareness of bluetooth devices [PDF]
This paper focuses on designing autonomous device discovery algorithms for Bluetooth networks. We first extend the conventional asymmetric Bluetooth link model to three point-to-point symmetric link models.

GreenLink: An Energy Efficient Scatternet Formation for BLE Devices
Formation technology of Bluetooth scatternet has been researched for over a decade and promoted by rapid development of wearable computing. Limited by technical features, the traditional scatternet formation technology has not been widely used in real commercial chipsets.

A locally coordinated scatternet scheduling algorithm [PDF]
There is growing interest in wireless personal area networks built from portable devices equipped with short-range radio interfaces such as Bluetooth. These small networks (called piconets) can be internetworked to form larger scatternets by means of bridge nodes that participate in more than one piconet on a time division basis.
