A Node Ring Bluetooth Scatternet Formation Algorithm
IEICE Transactions on Communications, 2005Bluetooth is reputed as a wireless networking technology capable of forming ad-hoc networks between digital devices. In particular, the Bluetooth scatternet will be an essential part of the fully distributed ad-hoc networks. However, scattemet is not fully described in the Bluetooth specification.

Bluetooth scatternet with infrastructure support: formation algorithms
Second IEEE Consumer Communications and Networking Conference, 2005. CCNC. 2005, 2005With the growth in the number of devices with an integrated Bluetooth module, the range of applications based on the Bluetooth technology becomes larger, going beyond peer-to-peer use-cases. This paper considers a hybrid network, consisting both of infrastructure and ad hoc parts, referred to as scatternet with infrastructure support.

Scatternet formation of Bluetooth ad hoc networks
36th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2003. Proceedings of the, 2003Scatternet formation must be addressed before any ad hoc network protocol can be run over Bluetooth. This is due to the frequency hop nature and piconet unit of Bluetooth. In this paper, a protocol stack of Bluetooth group ad hoc network and a "blue-star island" network formation algorithm are proposed.

A Practical Approach to Scatternet Formation and Routing on Bluetooth
2006 International Symposium on Computer Networks, 2006Bluetooth is a mobile ad-hoc network aiming to serve voice, video, and data applications. Piconet is the smallest Bluetooth network unit that can be formed by a group of nodes. Scatternets are formed by joining piconets. In this paper, a practical scatternet formation protocol and an application utilizing this protocol are introduced.

An Enhanced Protocol for Bluetooth Scatternet Formation and Routing
International Journal of Advanced Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing, 2014Formation of scatternet using Bluetooth devices increases device tractability thereby inviting new networking applications to be designed on it. In this paper we propose Bluetooth Scatternet Formation and Routing Protocol (BSFRP). It is a distributed protocol that handles node mobility and enables multi-hop communication.

A Servey on Bluetooth Scatternet Formation
2011A Bluetooth ad hoc network can be formed by interconnecting piconets into scatternets. The constraints and properties of Bluetooth scatternets present special challenges in forming an ad hoc network efficiently. This paper, the research contributions in this arena are brought together, to give an overview of the state-of-the-art.

Bluetooth scatternet formation from a time-efficiency perspective
Wireless Networks, 2013The Bluetooth Scatternet Formation (BSF) problem consists of interconnecting piconets in order to form a multi-hop topology. While a large number of BSF algorithms have been proposed, only few address time as a key parameter, and when doing so, virtually none of the solutions were tested under realistic settings.

Bluetooth for Autonomous Mini-Robots and Scatternet Formation
2005This paper describes a communication and control infrastructure for autonomous mini-robots, which is based on Bluetooth wireless communication technology. In mobile robots, one of the most important issues is power consumption which limits the lifetime of the robot.

A distributed self-healing approach to Bluetooth scatternet formation
IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2005This paper proposes a distributed self-healing technique for topology formation in dynamic Bluetooth wireless personal area networks (BT-WPANs) and analyzes three new algorithms for scatternet formation. The three algorithms employ distributed procedures for the insertion of one or more nodes in a BT-WPAN, and are able to effectively compromise between

Degree-constrained multihop scatternet formation for Bluetooth networks
Global Telecommunications Conference, 2002. GLOBECOM '02. IEEE, 2003We describe BlueMesh, a new protocol for the establishment of scatternets, i.e., multihop ad hoc networks of Bluetooth devices. BlueMesh defines rules for device discovery, piconet formation and piconet interconnection in order to achieve the following desirable properties: a) BlueMesh generates connected scatternets without requiring the Bluetooth ...
