The Viers Scatterometer Algorithm
Various backscatter theories have been investigated in a tank experiment. A simple t.wo-scale model performed better than other more complicated models. In combination with an air-sea interaction module the two-scale model provides the physical basis for the present Viers scatterometer algorithm.

Algorithm for sea surface wind retrieval from TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X data
A Geophysical Model Function (GMF), denoted XMOD2, is developed to retrieve sea surface wind field from Xband TerraSAR-X/TanDEM-X (TS-X/TD-X) data. In contrast to the previously developed XMOD1, XMOD2 consists of a nonlinear GMF, and thus, it depicts ...

Study of iceberg B10A using scatterometer data
The Antarctic continent continually releases glacial ice into the ocean in the form of icebergs calving from glaciers and ice shelves. Microwave scatterometers can provide useful information about the spatial and temporal behavior of large icebergs.
