Functional Materials Targeted Regulation of Gasdermins: From Fundamentals to Functionalities and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Targeted regulation of pyroptosis to modulate the immune landscape is a novel design strategy for cancer immunotherapy and anti‐inflammatory treatment. Pyroptosis, as a double‐edged sword, underscores the importance of optimizing the design strategy of functional materials and appropriately activating pyroptosis for the effective treatment of diseases.

Mechanical Biomimetic Nanocomposites for Multidimensional Treatment of Arterial Thrombosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, a mechanical biomimetic nanocomposite is developed, guided by photoacoustic imaging, to achieve highly efficient and safe thrombolysis through the synergistic effects of photothermal therapy and pharmacological intervention. Most notably, the nanoparticle improves the microenvironment of arterial thrombi, marked by high shear stress and ...

Intestinal SR-BI does not impact cholesterol absorption or transintestinal cholesterol efflux in mice

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2013
Reverse cholesterol transport (RCT) can proceed through the classic hepatobiliary route or through the nonbiliary transintestinal cholesterol efflux (TICE) pathway.

Secretory phospholipase A2 increases SR-BI-mediated selective uptake from HDL but not biliary cholesterol secretions⃞

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2008
High density lipoprotein cholesterol represents a major source of biliary cholesterol. Secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) is an acute phase enzyme mediating decreased plasma HDL cholesterol levels. Clinical studies reported a link between increased sPLA2

Bacterial Capture‐Killing Capsules with Remodeling Bone Immune Microenvironment for the Effective Treatment of Osteomyelitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The PC‐O@TOB capsules are designed to exhibit bactericidal effects, regulate the bone immune microenvironment by promoting M2 macrophage polarization, eliminate excessive ROS, and enhance bone regeneration, providing a novel multi‐dimensional approach for the treatment of osteomyelitis.

An Organic Chemist's Guide to Mediated Laccase Oxidation

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 23, Issue 23, December 5, 2022., 2022
The mediator‐assisted laccase‐catalyzed oxidation of alcohols is a green alternative to established classical synthetic protocols. However, the interaction between laccases, mediators and oxygen comprises a highly complicated, multivariate system. We present a detailed comparative study evaluating the most important components and parameters via an ...

Cartilage‐Penetrating Framework Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles Ameliorate Osteoarthritis by Promoting Drug Delivery and Chondrocyte Uptake

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on the poor cartilage penetration of tFNA, a novel tFNA‐2WL with excellent cartilage permeability and perfect chondrocyte endocytosis properties is designed and fabricated. As a result, tFNA‐2WL has a nearly seven‐fold increase in the penetration depth into the cartilage, with the same excellent cell entry properties as tFNA.

CD36 does not play a direct role in HDL or LDL metabolism

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2001
CD36 and scavenger receptor class B, type I (SR-BI) are both class B scavenger receptors that recognize a broad variety of ligands, including oxidized low density lipoprotein (oxLDL), HDL, anionic phospholipids, and apoptotic cells.
