Scheduling strategies.

Radiology management, 1991
This article describes a scheduling technique used at the San Francisco Magnetic Resonance Center to fill its daily scan schedule from early to late. A full schedule guarantees the success of a site, and this method reduces the possibility of unfilled early-day appointments and ensures open later-day appointments for purposes of "same-day" scheduling.

Strategies, scheduling effects, and the stability of intentions

Minds and Machines, 1992
This comment on Michael Bratman's ‘Planning and the Stability of Intention’ focuses on sources of the rational stability of intentions which are not related to the presence of reflectively overrideable non-deliberative habits of (non)reconsideration.

A New Scheduling Strategy for Risk Mitigation

2013 20th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC), 2013
Risk mitigation is essential for risk management because it aims to reduce or eliminate risks. A good risk mitigation strategy aims to make the best use of resources and reduces the project risk as much as possible. A meaningful strategy should at least have a higher performance than a "Random strategy".

Scheduling strategies for HetNets using eICIC

2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012
LTE Advanced (LTE-A) small cells (pico cells) allow a smart densification of an existing macro cellular network. They are a means to cope with increasing traffic demands. They cover hotspots and support users in areas with otherwise bad service coverage.

Comparison of Workflow Scheduling Strategies on the Grid

2006
Scheduling is a key concern for the execution of performance-driven Grid applications. In this paper we comparatively examine different existing approaches for scheduling of scientific workflow applications in a Grid environment. We evaluate three algorithms namely genetic, HEFT, and simple “myopic” and compare incremental workflow partitioning against

Parallel Single-Thread Strategies in Scheduling

2008
This paper, as well as coupled paper [2], deal with various aspects of scheduling algorithms dedicated for processing in parallel computing environments. In this paper, for the exemplary problem, namely the flow-shop scheduling problem with makespan criterion, there are proposed original methods for parallel analysis of a solution as well as a group of

Efficient multiuser MIMO scheduling strategies

IEEE 60th Vehicular Technology Conference, 2004. VTC2004-Fall. 2004, 2005
For multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) services, orthogonal multiple accesses, e.g., FDMA and TDMA are popular options to avoid multiuser interference. A high sum-rate is achievable in an MU-MIMO system where a common frequency or time resource is shared by multiple users if transmitters assume perfect knowledge of the corresponding channels.

Scheduling Strategies for Data Stream Processing

2009
Data have become a highly valued asset for governments, industries and individuals, and the management of these data collections remains a critical technical challenge.. The challenges of managing terabytes and exabytes of data and expanding data management to include other data modalities while maintaining the fundamental tenets of database management
