Decision-based genetic algorithms for solving multi-period project scheduling with dynamically experienced workforce [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The importance of the flexibility of resources increased rapidly with the turbulent changes in the industrial context, to meet the customers’ requirements.

An efficient processor allocation strategy that maintains a high degree of contiguity among processors in 2D mesh connected multicomputers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Two strategies are used for the allocation of jobs to processors connected by mesh topologies: contiguous allocation and non-contiguous allocation. In non-contiguous allocation, a job request can be split into smaller parts that are allocated to non ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

An Energy-Efficient Scheduling Strategy Based on Load Conditions in LTE System

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2013
The key question of green communication is how to reduce energy consumption while maintaining the quality of service. According to the conception of trading bandwidth for energy, with the addition of taking system throughput and fairness among users into

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Online Scheduling in Distributed Message Converter Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The optimal distribution of jobs among hosts in distributed environments is an important factor to achieve high performance. The optimal strategy depends on the application.

An Overhead-Optimizing Task Scheduling Strategy for Ad-hoc Based Mobile Edge Computing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In this paper, an overhead-optimizing multi-device task scheduling strategy for ad-hoc-based mobile edge computing system is proposed. This task scheduling strategy takes the opportunity consumption, time delay, energy consumption, and monetary cost into

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
