From “One Health” to “One Communication”: The Contribution of Communication in Veterinary Medicine to Public Health

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2015
Despite the fact that health communication is a discipline developed only recently, its importance in human medicine is well recognized. However, it is less considered in veterinary medicine, even if it has the potential to improve public health because ...

A Non‐Canonical Role of SMAD4 in Regulating 3D Genome Architecture to Inhibit Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SMAD4 is identified as a guardian of 3D genome architecture in lung squamous cell carcinoma. Loss of SMAD4 unleashes EP300 at chromatin loop anchors, strengthening enhancer–promoter looping and H3K27ac at the SOX2 locus to drive aberrant SOX2 activation and tumor cell proliferation.

Prevalence of Bovine Fasciolosis in Ethiopia, 2010–2024: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine International
Bovine fasciolosis is a neglected zoonotic and economically crucial parasitic disease of cattle caused by Fasciola spp. However, estimates of the overall prevalence of bovine fasciolosis in Ethiopia are lacking.

Placental Site Trophoblastic Tumor Acquires Immune Functions by Incorporating Host Maternal Genes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PSTT cells, through cell fusion with B cells, incorporate abundant non‐inherited maternal genes that are detectable by DNIMA. These hybrid cells acquire immunotherapy‐resistant genetic changes and increase the expression of B cell‐derived immune‐related molecules such as Ig, HLA, LILRB, SIGLEC10, and so on, creating an immunotolerant environment around

Biointegrated Multilayer Stretchable OLED Platform With Strain‐Decoupled Architecture for Durable Phototherapeutic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multilayer stretchable organic light‐emitting diode (SOLED) patch enables conformal, high‐fill‐factor phototherapeutic illumination through vertically decoupled electrodes and robust encapsulation. The textile‐based SOLED platform delivers stable skin‐contact red light for wearable phototherapy and 5‐aminolevulinic acid (ALA)‐mediated photodynamic ...

Serological Evidence of Exposure to Leptospira spp. in Veterinary Students and Other University Students in Trinidad and Tobago

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Perspectives on Infectious Diseases, 2013
The study compared the serological evidence of leptospirosis in 212 students in four schools (veterinary, dental, advanced nursing education and pharmacy) of the University of the West Indies (UWI), by testing for IgG immunoglobulins to Leptospira spp ...

CauFinder: Steering Cell‐State and Phenotype Transitions by Causal Disentanglement Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CauFinder combines causal disentanglement modeling and network control to prioritize causal drivers of cell‐state transitions from observational transcriptomic data. The framework separates transition‐relevant signals from spurious associations, nominates intervention targets across biological and disease contexts, and identifies DAAM1 as an actionable

Computer-assisted learning as an alternative to didactic lectures: a study of teaching the physics of diagnostic imaging

open access: yesResearch in Learning Technology, 1999
In recent years there has been an expansion in the number of undergraduate students recruited to the veterinary courses in the UK veterinary schools. This growth in student numbers has not been matched by an increase in academic staff devoted to teaching.

Biodegradable Acoustic Targeting for Ultrasound‐Supported Gene Therapy (BATUS) in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Glioblastoma (GBM) remains one of the most challenging brain malignancies due to the restrictive nature of the blood–brain barrier (BBB), which severely limits effective drug and gene delivery. To overcome this, we introduce Biodegradable Acoustic Targeting for Ultrasound‐Supported Gene Therapy (BATUS), a modular platform that enables safe ...

The Effect of Resistance Training and Ursolic Acid on the PI3K‐AKT‐mTOR Pathway in Aged Diabetic Rats: A Comparative Study

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Resistance training combined with ursolic acid supplementation restores anabolic signaling (PI3K/mTORC1) suppressed by diabetes, helping preserve muscle mass. This strategy may offer a potential therapeutic approach to combat muscle atrophy and support healthy aging in diabetic conditions.
