Straightening for Standard Monomials on Schubert Varieties
The authors give a combinatorial proof that the standard monomials (as developed in the series ``Geometry of \(G/P\). I-IX'' by \textit{V. Lakshmibai} et al.) give a basis for the multihomogeneous coordinate rings of Schubert varieties in \(GL_n/B\).

Schubert decompositions for ind-varieties of generalized flags
Let $\mathbf{G}$ be one of the ind-groups $GL(\infty)$, $O(\infty)$, $Sp(\infty)$ and $\mathbf{P}\subset \mathbf{G}$ be a splitting parabolic ind-subgroup.

Caution Ahead: Numerical Reasoning and Look‐Ahead Bias in AI Models
ABSTRACT Recent work within accounting and finance has highlighted that modern AI systems exhibit superhuman performance on a variety of foundational activities within these fields. However, the literature often does not provide economic rationale for why AI models seem to outperform, largely because these models are a black box.

Following Schubert varieties under Feigin's degeneration of the flag variety
We describe the effect of Feigin's flat degeneration of the type $\textrm{A}$ flag variety on its Schubert varieties. In particular, we study when they stay irreducible and in several cases we are able to encode reducibility of the degenerations in terms

The Riccati Flow and Singularities of Schubert Varieties [PDF]
Let Gr ( m , n ) \operatorname {Gr}(m,n) be the Grassmannian of m-dimensional subspaces of an n-dimensional k-vector space, with k = R k = {\mathbf {R}} or C. Fix an n × n

Farmers' Beliefs About Climate Action: Evidence From an Information Experiment
ABSTRACT Farmers' adoption of climate change mitigation practices is crucial for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from food production. One major source of these emissions is chemical fertilizer application. Introducing clover into grassland can mitigate emissions by reducing the need for chemical fertilizers.

Count Nouns - Mass Nouns, Neat Nouns - Mess Nouns
In this paper I propose and formalize a theory of the mass-count distinction in which the denotations of count nouns are built from non-overlapping generators, while the denotations of mass nouns are built from overlapping generators.

Conormal Varieties of covexillary Schubert Varieties
A permutation is called covexillary if it avoids the pattern $3412$. We construct an open embedding of a covexillary matrix Schubert variety into a Grassmannian Schubert variety. As applications of this embedding, we show that the characteristic cycles of covexillary Schubert varieties are irreducible, and provide a new proof of Lascoux's model ...

Museum specimens provide a rich source of historical DNA, enabling insights into phylogenetic relationships and demographic history of the endangered Koklass Pheasant. Our findings uncovered a previously unrecognized population in Guizhou province and highlighted elevated extinction risk in populations from Anhui province and Southern China, informing ...

Coordinate rings of regular nilpotent Hessenberg varieties in the open opposite schubert cell
Dale Peterson has discovered a surprising result that the quantum cohomology ring of the flag variety $\operatorname {\mathrm {GL}}_n({\mathbb {C}})/B$ is isomorphic to the coordinate ring of the intersection of the Peterson variety ...
