On Holomorphic Contractibility of Teichmüller Spaces

open access: yesAxioms, 2022
The problem of the holomorphic contractibility of Teichmüller spaces T(0,n) of the punctured spheres (n>4) arose in the 1970s in connection with solving algebraic equations in Banach algebras. Recently it was solved by the author.

The Higher Order Schwarzian Derivative: Its Applications for Chaotic Behavior and New Invariant Sufficient Condition of Chaos

open access: yes, 2007
The Schwarzian derivative of a function f(x) which is defined in the interval (a, b) having higher order derivatives is given by Sf(x)=(f''(x)/f'(x))'-1/2(f''(x)/f'(x))^2 .

Schwarzian derivative and Janowski convexity [PDF]

open access: yesStudia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Matematica, 2017
Sufficient conditions relating the Schwarzian derivative to the Janowski convexity of a normalized analytic function f are obtained. As a consequence, sufficient conditions are determined for the function f to be Janowski convex and convex of order α. Also, some equivalent sharp inequalities are proved for f to be Janowski convex.

Nonlocal Symmetry and Bäcklund Transformation of a Negative‐Order Korteweg–de Vries Equation

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
The residual symmetry of a negative‐order Korteweg–de Vries (nKdV) equation is derived through its Lax pair. Such residual symmetry can be localized, and the original nKdV equation is extended into an enlarged system by introducing four new variables. By using Lie’s first theorem, we obtain the finite transformation for the localized residual symmetry.

Injectivity of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann Functional and the Schwarzian Derivative

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2010
In this article, we show the relation between the Schwartz kernels of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann operators associated to the metrics g0 and h = F* (e²φ g0) on the circular annulus A R, and the Schwarzian Derivative of the argument function f of the ...

The KdV in Cosmology: a useful tool or a distraction?

open access: yes, 2014
The letter is a response to the recent article by J. Lidsey. We demonstrate that the Schwarzian derivative technique developed therein is but a consequence of linearizabiliy of the original cosmological equations.

Resonant Soliton and Soliton‐Cnoidal Wave Solutions for a (3+1)‐Dimensional Korteweg‐de Vries‐Like Equation

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
The residual symmetry of a (3+1)‐dimensional Korteweg‐de Vries (KdV)‐like equation is constructed using the truncated Painlevé expansion. Such residual symmetry can be localized and the (3+1)‐dimensional KdV‐like equation is extended into an enlarged system by introducing some new variables.

Cohomology of groups of diffeomorphims related to the modules of differential operators on a smooth manifold

open access: yes, 2002
Let $M$ be a manifold and $T^*M$ be the cotangent bundle. We introduce a 1-cocycle on the group of diffeomorphisms of $M$ with values in the space of linear differential operators acting on $C^{\infty} (T^*M).$ When $M$ is the $n$-dimensional sphere, $S ...

Robust Chaos of Cubic Polynomial Discrete Maps with Application to Pseudorandom Number Generators

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Based on the robust chaos theorem of S‐unimodal maps, this paper studies a kind of cubic polynomial discrete maps (CPDMs) and sets up a novel theorem. This theorem gives general conditions for the occurrence of robust chaos in the CPDMs. By using the theorem, we construct a CPDM.
