Trichostatin A attenuates E.coli-induced inflammation by modulating CD4+T cell homeostasis
Objective To investigate the role of trichostatin A (TSA) in regulating CD4+T cell subpopulations during Escherichia coli (E.coli) inflammatory infections. Methods Male mice (8 weeks old, weighing 22~25 g) were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=16): a

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The British sciences and the Great War
The history of the relations of science and war in the United Kingdom during the Great War has been the subject of much mythologising, by scientists and by historians. Those myths need to be understood, not ignored. Contrary to those myths, the UK had a
