Mothers' and fathers' joint profiles for testosterone and oxytocin in a small‐scale fishing‐farming community: Variation based on marital conflict and paternal contributions

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 9, Issue 9, September 2019., 2019
In a remote, small‐scale, fishing‐farming society in Republic of the Congo, fathers who were viewed as better providers or (separately) had greater conflict with their wives had relatively lower oxytocin and higher testosterone than other men in the community.

Impacts of Paraburkholderia phytofirmans Strain PsJN on Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum L.) Under High Temperature

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Abnormal temperatures induce physiological and biochemical changes resulting in the loss of yield. The present study investigates the impact of the PsJN strain of Paraburkholderia phytofirmans on tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) in response to heat

Separation of Co(II) and Ni(II) Using an Analog of Glycine-Betaine Based on Task-Specific Ionic Liquids

open access: yesSeparations, 2023
A series of salts based on ethyl ester glycine-betaine derivatives, viz tri(n-pentyl)[2-ethoxy-2-oxoethyl]ammonium bromide, have been synthesized. These cations generate hydrophobic ionic liquids (ILs) with bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (Tf2N−) or ...

The mesic savannas of the Bateke Plateau: carbon stocks and floristic composition

open access: yesBiotropica, Volume 50, Issue 6, Page 868-880, November 2018., 2018
Abstract The Bateke Plateau in the Republic of Congo is one of the last frontiers for ecology, with little known about its floristics and physiognomy. Despite occupying 89,800 km2 and its importance for local livelihoods, its ecology and ecosystem functions are poorly understood. Situated on Kalahari sands, the Bateke has a complex evolutionary history,

Free or Protein-Bound Microcystin Accumulation by Freshwater Bivalves as a Tool to Evaluate Water Contamination by Microcystin-Producing Cyanobacteria?

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Cyanobacterial proliferations display rapid spatiotemporal variations that can interfere in the assessment of water contamination levels by microcystins (MC), and make necessary the use of integrative tools.

Trophic Diversity in Aquatic Food Webs Along a Tropical Coastal River Continuum in West‐Central Africa

open access: yesFreshwater Biology, Volume 71, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT In the wet Afrotropics, information on trophic diversity and resource use in freshwaters is extremely limited. Here we used stable isotope ratios (δ13C, δ15N) from food webs along the continuum of a coastal river in the Republic of the Congo to examine seasonal and spatial patterns of trophic diversity.

A shadow Markov equation

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2023
We introduce an analogue of the classical Markov equation that involves dual numbers $a+\alpha \varepsilon $ with $\varepsilon ^2=0$. This equation characterizes the “shadow Markov numbers” recently considered by one of us.

Opinion and report of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) relating to an analysis of the health risks associated with exposure to caterpillars with stinging hairs and the development of management recommendations

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 3, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract Several species of Lepidoptera with caterpillars bearing urticating hairs are increasing their range in metropolitan France from year to year, such as the pine processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa Denis et Schiffermüller 1775) whose presence was historically limited to the south of France, and which is gradually being observed in the north ...
