Synthesis of Janus Polydiacetylene Sensor Particles with Thermochromism and Solvatochromism Properties

Controlled fabrication of Janus polydiacetylene (PDA) microparticles is accomplished using a simple heating and cooling process in an aqueous solution. Janus PDA particles demonstrate potential for solvent sensing, with distinct solvatochromic behavior in each bulb.
