Crystal growth, optical, luminescence and scintillation characterization of Li2Zn2(MoO4)3 crystal [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Alloys and Compounds, 2021
A Li2Zn2(MoO4)(3) (LZMO) single crystal was grown by the flux method under the condition of a low temperature-gradient. The obtained crystal has a single-phase confirmed by a powder X-ray diffraction study.

Crystal Growth and Scintillation Properties of Fluoride Scintillators

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2012
Fluoride single crystals have a wide band gap. Thus, we were interested in studying the scintillation properties of fluoride single crystals. We investigated the scintillation properties of fluoride crystals grown by the micro-pulling-down and annealing methods.

Scintillation properties of YAG:Yb crystals

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2001
We report on measurements of the light yield, emission spectrum, and time response of YAG:Yb crystals. The temperature dependence of light yield was investigated. Data show that YAG:Yb crystals are good scintillators, suitable for applications to neutrino detection and spectroscopy. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Low Temperature Scintillation in ZnSe Crystals

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2010
The search for new materials which could be used as scintillating bolometers is a subject of great interest in view of next-generation experiments dedicated to the study of neutrinoless double beta decay (DBD). Preliminary measurements performed on ZnSe bolometric and scintillation characteristics gave very promising results for what concerns the ...

Crystal growth and scintillation properties of selected fluoride crystals for VUV scintillators

Journal of Crystal Growth, 2014
Single crystals of orthorhombic and monoclinic BaLu2F8 doped with Nd and Tm were grown by micro-pulling-down method. The monoclinic (low temperature modification) was grown using LiF flux, while the orthorhombic (high temperature modification) was grown with special hot-zone with shallow gradient and employing quenching process.

Scintillation response of Lu3Al5O12:Pr3+ single crystal scintillators

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2012
Abstract In this paper, we present the scintillation responses of Pr3+-doped Lu3Al5O12 single crystals grown by the Czochralski method with different Pr3+ concentration of 0.19, 0.31, and 0.43 mol% in the crystal. The light yield and energy resolution were measured using photomultiplier tube (XP5200B PMT) readout.

The improved scintillation crystal lead tungstate scintillation for PET

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
As a valuable material for the detecting of γ-ray, PbWO 4 and BaF 2 :PbWO 4 crystals were grown by a novel multi-crucible temperature gradient system developed by ourselves. Utilizing a topical partial heating method, this system can form a topical partial high temperature in its hearth. Thus this system could melt raw materials in step by step as
