Abstract Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are used to optimize turfgrass growth, reduce management inputs, and potentially mitigate diseases. However, golf course superintendents have reported anecdotal evidence linking increased PGR‐induced phytotoxicity with high populations of lance nematodes (Hoplolaimus galeatus).
