Skin Cancers in Australian Liver Transplant Recipients: Risk Factors and Histology

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.

Assessing Major Adverse Liver Outcomes With Baclofen Compared to Acamprosate in Compensated Alcohol‐Associated Cirrhosis

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
We conducted a nationwide, multicenter cohort study using a target trial emulation framework to compare baclofen and acamprosate in patients with compensated alcohol‐associated cirrhosis. After matching, baclofen initiation was associated with a higher 1‐year risk of major adverse liver outcomes, driven primarily by hepatic encephalopathy, particularly

Sarcopenia Is Associated With Mortality and Progression of Cirrhosis in Decompensated but Not Compensated Disease—A Multicentre Study

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
In a retrospective cohort of 1,624 adults with cirrhosis, sarcopenia was independently associated with unplanned hospitalization, death, and cirrhosis progression (or death) in patients with decompensated disease. In compensated cirrhosis, sarcopenia was associated only with a higher risk of unplanned hospitalization.
