Attempted ablation of an orbital cyst in a dog with 1% polidocanol using fluoroscopy and contrast cystography

open access: yesVeterinary Ophthalmology, EarlyView.
Abstract A 4‐year‐old female spayed mixed‐breed dog received enucleation surgery of the right eye in 2018 following the diagnosis of glaucoma. The patient was presented in 2021 for recurrent swelling of the right orbit. Ultrasound confirmed the presence of a cystic structure, and chemical ablation with 1% polidocanol (compounded, Stokes Pharmacy, Mt ...

Bilateral Ovarian Hemangiomas Presenting With Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Ovarian hemangiomas are rare benign vascular tumors that can present with abnormal uterine bleeding and mimic malignant ovarian lesions. Imaging may be inconclusive, and histopathology remains essential for diagnosis. This case highlights the importance of considering ovarian hemangiomas in the differential diagnosis of pelvic masses to ensure

Development and Initial Use of a New Inflammatory Bowel Disease Clinical Database Integrating Both Eastern and Western Clinical Characteristics

open access: yesChronic Diseases and Translational Medicine, Volume 11, Issue 2, Page 130-139, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Background The increasing incidence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) presents significant medical and societal challenges. Secondary sclerosing cholangitis in patients suffering cardiogenic shock

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 3, Page 2239-2244, June 2025.
Abstract Aims Cardiogenic shock (CS) patients suffer from severe organ hypoperfusion, yet the incidence of secondary sclerosing cholangitis in critically ill patients (SSC‐CIP) in CS is poorly described. Given the limited evidence and severity of this syndrome, we aimed to further investigate SSC‐CIP in the context of CS.

Emerging Links Between Ferroptosis and Neurodegeneration: Implications for Disease Mechanisms and Nutraceutical Interventions

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
Ferroptosis, a controlled cell death, is driven by iron and characterized by reactive oxygen species and lipid peroxidation. The impact of lipid peroxides, GSH/GPX4, and iron metabolism–targeting small molecule inhibitors is discussed. Nucleic acids, proteins, and phytochemicals are implicated as inhibitors of ferroptosis.

Peroxisome Proliferator‐Activated Receptor (PPAR) Agonists for Patients With Primary Biliary Cholangitis With Inadequate Response to Ursodeoxycholic Acid (UDCA): A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor (PPAR) agonists are agents used for patients with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) who do not respond to conventional agents like ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA). This meta‐analysis aimed to assess the safety and efficacy of PPAR agonists, including fibrates and selective PPAR agonists, on ...
