Hydrogen‐Enhanced Grain Boundary Conductivity Explains High‐Conductivity Anomalies in Trans‐Lithospheric Shear Zones

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 15, 16 August 2026.
Abstract Magnetotelluric (MT) surveys reveal high electrical conductivity anomalies along major trans‐lithospheric shear zones. Given that trans‐lithospheric shear zones are proposed conduits for deep‐Earth volatiles, we employ molecular dynamics simulations to quantify H+ diffusivity and electrical conductivity at olivine grain boundaries.

A Brain‐Wide Atlas of Astrocytic Oxytocin Receptors Reveals a Glial Basis for Nucleus Accumbens Modulation of Affiliative Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
The cellular actors of oxytocin signaling are under intense scrutiny. A brain‐wide anatomical and functional analysis in mice and rats reveals widespread expression of oxytocin receptors in astrocytes. These receptors are functionally active and, in the nucleus accumbens, selectively regulate male social affiliation.

Streptavidins Coordinate Biotin Sequestration and Self‐Resistance Within a Biotin‐Pathway Antibiotic Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 46, 17 August 2026.
A conserved genomic region between two streptavidin genes in Streptomyces packages biosynthetic gene clusters for diverse biotin‐pathway antibiotics: acidomycin, stravidin, the new non‐proteinogenic amino acid ANDA, and the new BioA inhibitor α‐methyl‐KAPA.

Effect of Ni Particle Size on the Efficiency of Ni/HAP Grafted Catalysts in the CO2 Methanation Reaction

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
ABSTRACT CO2 methanation is a promising route for carbon utilization and renewable energy storage, yet its efficiency strongly depends on the properties of the active metal phase. Herein, Ni/HAP catalysts with Ni particle sizes ranging from 3.9 to 7.0 nm were prepared by varying the calcination temperature ramping rate (TRR), while preserving the ...

Iron‐Substituted Zn‐Al LDH‐Derived Mixed Oxides: Tailoring Structure, Composition and Redox Properties for Efficient CO2‐to‐Olefins Conversion

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
LDH‐derived Zn‐Fe‐Al mixed oxides exhibited 40% CO2 conversion and 10.6% yield of light olefins. The composition and the properties of the mixed oxides strongly influenced the selectivity of products, while ZnFe2O4 and iron carbide structure promoted the conversion and the selectivity of light olefins.

An unattended image‐processing pipeline for on‐the‐fly quality assessment and 3D exploration in cryo‐EM

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 82, Issue 8, Page 915-939, August 2026.
We present a fully automated, unattended cryo‐EM pipeline that serves as an on‐the‐fly diagnostic tool, enabling rapid data‐quality assessment and informed decision‐making to maximize data‐collection efficiency.Single‐particle analysis (SPA) by cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) has become a cornerstone of structural biology; yet, the workflow ...

Cost Effectiveness of Venous Leg Ulcer Healing Using Muscle Pump Activation

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the cost‐effectiveness of treating patients with Venous Leg Ulcers (VLUs) with the Muscle Pump Activation device (MPA, geko) in Canada. This is a cost‐effectiveness analysis of the treatment of patients with VLUs, using MPA for 4 weeks in addition to standard of care compression therapy (SOC), compared to ...

T½ Tuning in a Synergistic BODIPY‐Tetrazole Fe(II) Spin‐Crossover‐Photoluminescence System via Co‐Ligand Variation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 28, 25 July 2026.
We report a modular spin crossover‐photoluminescence (SCO‐PL) system: heteroleptic, mononuclear Fe(II) coordination compounds bearing equatorial BODIPY fluorophores that exhibit synergistic PL response upon spin state switching. Exchanging apical nitrile co‐ligands tunes electronic and structural properties, giving precise control over the SCO and PL ...
