Scolopendromorpha Leach 1815

2018
List of Scolopendromorpha of Saint Barthélemy Island Data on the Chilopoda of St. Barthélemy Island is very scarce. In 1847, C.L. Koch described Scolopendra crudelis from “Barthelmi”. Shelley (2006) recorded four species of the genus Scolopendra for this island: S. alternans Leach, 1815 (p.

Sperm dimorphism in Chilopoda: comparison of Scolopendromorpha and Geophilomorpha

Invertebrate Reproduction and Development, 1999
Summary Micro- and macrospermatozoa were found in the male genital duct and female spermatheca of Scolopendra cingulata (Scolopendromorpha), whereas sperm dimorphism was not encountered in Himantarium gabrielis (Geophilomorpha). On the basis of ultrastructural analysis, the micro-and macrosperm of S. cingulata and the single sperm type of H.

The complete mitochondrial genome ofScolopocryptopssp. (Chilopoda: Scolopendromorpha: Scolopocryptopidae)

Mitochondrial DNA, 2013
The first complete mitogenome sequence of Scolopendromorpha is reported herein. The mitochondrial genome of Scolopocryptops sp. (Scolopendromorpha: Scolopocryptopidae) is a circular molecule of 15,119 bp in length. The orientation and gene order of the Scolopocryptops mitogenome are identical to that of Limulus polyphemus, except that the position of ...

A contribution to the centipede fauna of Venezuela (Chilopoda: Scolopendromorpha)

Zootaxa, 2014
The descriptions of twelve Venezuelan Scolopendromorpha, a list of species, identification key and detailed list of localities are presented. Cryptops (C.) venezuelae Chamberlin, 1939, known only from the holotype has been re-described and Scolopendra conjungens Muralewicz, 1913 reduced to a junior synonym of Scolopendra angulata Newport, 1844 syn. nov.

Taxonomic and nomenclatural notes on scolopendrid centipedes (Chilopoda: Scolopendromorpha: Scolopendridae)

Zootaxa, 2006
Some taxonomic and nomenclatural inconsistencies in the Scolopendridae are clarified. Heterostoma cribriferum var. robustum Haase, 1887 is placed in synonymy under Ethmostigmus rubripes platycephalus (Newport, 1845), and the synonymy of Congobius Dobroruka, 1968 and Parotostigmus Pocock, 1896 (a valid subgenus of Otostigmus Porat, 1876) is formalized ...

A New Scolopocryptopid Centipede from Northeastern Brazil (Chilopoda: Scolopendromorpha)

Studies on Neotropical Fauna and Environment, 2004
A new species of centipede, Scolopocryptops piauhyensis sp. n., is described from Piaui State, northeastern Brazil. It is the only species in this genus known to occur in the ‘caatinga’ biome. The new species is related to S. inversus (Chamberlin, 1921) and S.

END-PIECE FORMATION DURING SPERMIOGENESIS OF SCOLOPENDROMORPHA (CHILOPODA)

1993
End-piece formation during spermiogenesis of two species of Scolopendromorpha, namely Scolopendra cingulata and S. clavipes, was examined by transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Four important steps characterized the morphogenetic process: 1) preservation of a cytoplasmic appendage (plume) at the end of the tail; 2) formation of a short ...

TAXONOMY AND SYSTEMATICS OF CENTIPEDES ORDER SCOLOPENDROMORPHA IN THAILAND

Scolopendromorph centipede specimens were collected mainly in Thailand and from several other parts of mainland Southeast Asia. Taxonomic revision based on traditional morphology and molecular phylogeny from three partial gene datasets (COI, 16S rRNA and 28S rRNA) have been used to verify the taxonomic validity of this centipede group.
